He is famous for: -being a supernova -being Ace's brother -breaking into and out of impel down -having been in the saobody incident and marineford war -returning to the marine hq a few days later in full view of reporters That's quite a list. I'm going on a limb here and say this is a lot for someone just entering the second half. | ||

While I agree that the list you gave is indeed something to worry about for your average pirate, I feel like he should be equally worried about champion being in the tournament aswell. So, while I have no real proof, and it's purely speculation at this point, I wouldnt be surprised if there was some underlying motive for him being worried, other than just the giant reputation Luffy built for himself. Perhaps it's a weakness, like someone mentioned, or perhaps it's -just going abit crazy prediction mode- that he admires Luffy. We can only speculate away. EDIT : Let's play the speculation game some more : if he wasent a captain, I could even see him fitting in the strawhat crew. So far he doesnt seem like that bad of a guy to me. | ||

One thing I've always loved about Shanks' crew is that none of them look particularly flashy. Sure there's a huge obese guy and Shanks has his scar but other than that they all look like normal people pretty much. Compare that to say Whitebeard (what's eccentric about him is rather obvious) and his crew or Big Mum (again, obvious) or even Luffy who has freaking Robots and Skeletons in his crew, and you wouldn't get the feeling that if you met one of those guys somewhere on an island, he'd completely fuck you up and sink your ship. But that for me is a huge part of their badassery. They seem like small time pirates back in Luffy's village, the bandits don't even know them and suddenly they show up ready to fight and Ben Beckman lifts a finger and makes them all disappear. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that Bartolomeo is already too eccentric in the way his character looks, acts and is presented for him to really fit the image of Shanks' crew. I could definitely see him working for someone like Kaido or Big Mom though or - which I'd personally find really cool - Kidd or one of the other Supernovas. Also if he's really dedicated to bringing the fruit to "that person" which he seems to be, then I'd say that there's a deeper meaning behind this. Like, some kind of personal meaning for it. That could be something like the Whitebeard pirates who don't want Ace's memory to be tainted or even - if we assume he's alive for a second - Sabo. I just feel like Oda wouldn't make readers suspicious like that if the person Bartolomeo was working for/with didn't fit that criteria. Oh also typing that huge wall of text made me realize again what an incredible writer Oda really is. His attention to detail and broad scale at the same time and his staying true to his characters is probably unrivaled by even most book authors. | ||

When he saw mr 3, Buggy or Bellamy it's allways been like "Oh.. Hi? How you doin'?", unless he really hated them (Crocodile/Akainu too prolly) he hasn't really held grudges But I definitly agree, that page was good stuff | ||
