Chill man, I mostly enjoy OP. It's not as good as it was, but unlike the other big two it's quality hasn't nosedived. Yes Wano is stretching, but even then some chapters are legitimately good. Let it run it's course, we're getting to the end eventually.

How the hell does Kaido even know about Joyboy is the biggest OP question posed since the Fishman Island arc told us Joyboy broke his promise to the mermaid princess.

Kaido could know about Joy Boy since Big Mom used to protect Fishman Island, where the Poneglyph divulging this information is located. She could have told him about its contents since they are allies.
For me, Luffy losing again sounds very natural since Yonkou have been hyped up forever and everybody respects Kaido's strength. After Luffy takes him down, there's only a handful of individuals who are able to pose a threat.

He's been a notorious pirate for over 30 years so there's any number of ways he could know. A possibility would be from his former captain Rocks. I mean that guy was planning to overthrow the world government so he probably knew something.

Yeah, one of the primary reasons we know that neither Big Mom nor Kaido have made a final push towards becoming Pirate King is the fact that they can't read the poneglyphs. Hence them wanting to capture Robin alive now or Big Mom hoping Pudding's 3rd eye will some day give her the ability to read them. So it's unlikely at least he got this knowledge from Big Mom.
But there's other possibilities such as his former captain Rocks, Oden's diary or even just generally the land of Wano since the poneglyphs come from there.

Here's the gist of my current theory:
Im and Joy Boy were the race of people who were advanced and were defeated by the world government. Im betrayed Joyboy to overthrow his people, ally with the WG and rule the world.
When he looked down at the straw hat, Im was mourning and feeling guilt, but he was also worried about Luffy having a very similar hat. I think that was Joy Boys hat and he keeps it because Joy Boy was once important to him.
Way back when, Wano, Minks and the people who are now on the moon had an alliance of sorts. Wano has huge moon imagery. Minks powered by moon. Very advanced robots on the moon. Very advanced race of people were wiped out. The timing makes sense that IMO people from other planets went to the one piece planet.
I think planets need to be aligned for the various ancient weapons to work. Pluto, Uranus, Neptune etc could perhaps need to be aligned to be used. When ALL planets are aligned, Joy Boy comes back.
When Roger got to Laugh Tale, he realized he is the tallest midget and that there are other planets out there and that the ancient weapons made by other planets are on a totally different level. And in order to bring back joy boy, he was 20 years too early, since the planets weren't aligned yet, so he was like "Well this is hilarious lol. I am the tallest midget apparently and I can't even meet joyboy right now because i'm too early. None of the ancient weapons are online yet because its too early. God damn lol"

The straw hat belonging to Joy Boy seems very plausible. I'm wondering that if Im does not age and is immortal, what importance would he hold in the WG? If I was human, I'd like to get rid of him one day.

I think its possible none of that race ages, joyboy included. I think its possible their race is represented by the sun.

What if to Kaido, Joy Boy simply means a great warrior, or an impressive user of conquerers haki? Hence as Luffy lost to Kaido in combat, he is no Joy Boy.

I feel like that's too specific of a phrase not to come from the phoneglyphs. Naturally Kaido could have misinterpreted them, but considering what we've seen from Kaido I'm not convinced he's an idiot, just overconfident.
That being said Joy boy might be a term for someone who finds the one piece. The original joy boy iirc was an explorer too. Considering that there seems to be a prophecy about Joy Boy returning, I think it does refer to the original void century person though and we're in for some prophecy/chosen one stuff for the endgame.

No-one said Kaido phrase did not come from the phonegryphs. It does not follow that someone is an idiot for misinterpreting an ancient language that hardly anybody can translate. As readers, we have no real idea what Kaido intended to convey in declaring that Luffy is no Joy Boy.

From a story-writing standpoint it's pretty clear that Kaido is talking to himself to provide exposition. He's supposed to reintroduce a concept that was roughly mentioned roughly 800 chapters ago to make clear that it's relevant for the upcoming story.
What would be the point of an arc-villain who's likely to go down this or the next arc telling the readers (and solely the readers) that he has a wrong understanding of an ancient myth? Instead he could talk about it to show that he has a way to interpret the phoneglyphs, and toss another piece of the puzzle.

I'm leaning more towards the Ope Ope immortality surgery. The reason being is that Oda made a really big deal out of that one particular ability so it's only natural that he'd use it sometime in the series. Furthermore, it also explains why the WG is so interested in acquiring the fruit since Imu would have a direct vested interest in that particular ability. Furthermore, it could also be that only a user of the Ope Ope fruit can take away the immortality surgery, meaning it's one of the few fruits that could actually threaten the WG power structure.

Newest SBS is pretty fun. We got Kid's fruit name, explanation of SMILE, insinuation that there were babies besides Momo/Hiori with the Rodger crew at some point (Shanks/Buggy?), and some Jinbe content.

Because characterization and arc structure should usually work with each other.
If Buggy was talking about this your assumption that he misunderstood something would make sense. Buggy could have overheard someone talking about this, gotten only half right, talk about this now to reintroduce the readers to Joy Boy and then later on drop a related quest hook to the SHs ending up in him being the butt of the joke.
But Oda is still building up Kaido as the arc villain and him being smarter than you'd assume from his brutish behavior plays into that. It solidifies the assumption that Joy Boy's return is going to become a plot point because that would solidify Kaido as a major player who isn't just a brute.

Literally all of Sanji's 1v1 fights that would have been significant post time-skip got interrupted. Would be great if he finally got a fight that is more than a few pages.
