It's unconfirmed whether it's the sword that has the fruit or Fujitora. Also, we haven't really seen what a devil fruit does to an item outside of a Zoan (I can think of the dog cannon from Alabasta and the Elephant sword from Enis Lobby) and it was a pretty noticeable effect. And if shank's sword was a griffon then I don't think it would look like a vanilla sabre like the one he has. Instead, I'd wager that shanks has another one of those super duper special swords that Mihawk has.
That said, his sword could have a paramecia or logia or something since we've never seen what those fruits do if fed to equipment - and don't even know whether it's possible.
Also, I'm still holding out for Shanks having a robo arm.

Can't it just be a name he gave to his sword? Zoro's are named and they aren't Fruits.

they had problem with raw provider last week and released the jump chapter on Sunday only
it's possible they have the same problem this week, or that they'll just release it later today...

Oda's obsession with chapter numbers is causing him to stall this arc pretty hard. Or maybe it's his marketing team that's forcing him to do it?

Wait....... what if the reason Oda is stalling for chapter 900 is because..... in that chapter + Show Spoiler +Big mom actually dies after eating the cake.

Honestly at this point, unless katakuri has a sudden death to a heart attack or gets called off by big mom because she liked the cake and wants to spare luffy, i dont see how luffy gets away without it being a total asspull by oda. even if that last frame is future sight.

The ass pull will be him awakening something. Either his Rubber fruit or just better haki. It's kind of weird though because Luffy seems to be fighting with the intention of somehow awakening something.

Well he was pretty clear what his goal is - he wants to improve his observation haki to Katakuri's level.

The main question is how much exhaustion plays a role, if Luffy gets to be as strong as Katakuri and recovers somehow, I can see him pull through. He just needs to beat Katakuri.
Chapter was pretty clear that something is happening in the last 2 pages, Luffy notices something and (he says Huh twice and looks backwards immediately before getting hit) and then somebody is laughing. There's also the panel where Luffy is made out of fog immediately before getting hit.
