I started watching @ CP9 Saga, but I know a little bit of the previous saga. Which opponent they face, the outcome, rough idea hahas.
Hey, I've watched Arlong Saga too 
I like how Luffy keep winning tough opponent with great determination.
Beating Arlong who is said to be equal to Shichibukai Jimbei (Although later stories doesn't seem like it), then goes on to beat real shichibukai crocodile to save a country, then goes on to beat a god who have instinct to feel where they are going to move, then goes to defeat secret agent CP9 using new abilities ( I like this episode the best!! ^.^ so touching so much determination and hard work! Especially when Luffy stand up and Jet Gatling Lucci.) And goes on to defeat 2nd Shichibukai who believes it is a joke to use 2 shichibukai against Luffy.
But after that, things get a lil bit wierd, there are so much stronger opponent out there, Comes out 11 supernova, comes out admiral who is so strong, impel down poison guy, Jimbei, Ivankov and even crocrodile seems to become more powerful. Makes Luffy, the strongest of his pirate crew become like just a normal guy. 
And the strongest swordman didn't do anything spectacular during Whitebeard vs Marines. Mihawk did show he is strong but it seems Crocrodile is as strong as him as well and I'm not sure if he can beat Marines admiral which is so amazingly strong.
I used to think Mihawk is invincible, very very very strong. Rival with Red Haired Shanks when he has both hands and Zoro Goal of defeating him. I just loses the feeling when I continue watching the series.
And the technology, first is the japanese fighter fish plane that throws bomb, and then the television that can Whitebeard pirates vs Marines Live. And then it seems there are new guns new weapons taht is so modern makes me feel abit uncomfortable.
Comes out wierder devil fruits ability... Okay, never mind about that.
Luffy doesn't seem luffy when he can't win when he tries his very best . And it's been almost a year I think, Luffy and his crew is not back together yet *Cries* . I miss Zoro and Sanji, Sanji Especially *cries*. Oh YA! Not forgetting SOGEKING. Franky!! Oh gosh...I think I miss all of the crew.
I still watch One Piece though, I wan to see Luffy get strong! I wan to see him get his crew back!
I know I complain alot in this post but actually deep inside I still love One Piece manga.! But maybe my expectation is too high or maybe things doesn't go the way I want and I don't like it..

One Piece as Naruto and Bleach did slowed down abit when the anime catches up to the manga, seeing as an anime episode is about 1½ chapters of manga it eventually catches up thus era of fillers
Seeing as the manga was still at the end of thriller bark or just after it when the anime was about to go there they had to add a small filler arc. I'm expecting a long filler arc ala naruto did just before shipuuden <god forbid tho>.. and there's so much going on One Piece now i don't like to many main characters just dying, especially not bad ass ones

Luffy going into serious shock actually is what I was expecting. Ace is his brother and has always been the one who has been there for him. From what they show from the manga, he is actually the closest person to luffy (possibly luffy feels closer to shanks but unlikely). Him losing that person combined with all the damage he had previously taken to this point and going into shock is really impressive. It feels real. Finally we have a sense that even though luffy is really strong, he is still just a man like everyone else.

+ Show Spoiler +Ok, Whitebeard just lost half his head and proceeded to own an admiral along with 1000 other marines when he split the island in half. Why didn't he do that before when he was fighting Akainu? Nevertheless, such a bad ass.
Oh, and I predict that Black Beard will kill White Beard and then kill an ass load of marines (and maybe even an admiral?) with his crazy destruction powers and become a Yonku.

+ Show Spoiler +If whitebeard split the island while akainu was fighting with him earlier, he would have most likely hurt a bunch of his own men (because he was near the ship etc. He used the attack after most of the pirates had ran back to the ship + he was fairly isolated, wanting to make his last stand

Whitebeard, just like Gold Roger, has started a new age!
+ Show Spoiler +He has refueled the fire and most likely started a new age of piracy with his: "One piece exists." Wow, now I think a time skip will come in a few chapters and as for the fate of all of the characters... Akainu: he fell into the great trench, probably not dead though because he is such a good villain. Luffy: one word: training! this chapter has done nothing but show the great powers out there and luffy needs to step up and become a better fighter. And as for bounty? lol. 400k at leastCrew members: will most likely get re-united after the time skip, but gradually (kind of like Final Fantasy 3/6). Black Beard: will most likely become a Yonku, he has a stacked crew and a broken power. White Beard's crew: I think they are going to split up, unless they accept a new leader like Marco. But Marco isn't nearly as powerful as a Yonku should be. Pacifistas: Have we all forgotten about them? They will no doubt be employed by a now weakend world government to contain the new pirate menace. The Rest: Jimbei will probably be on his way or join the WB crew, the revolutionary army will probably meet up with dragon, taking Luffy to see his father possibly. WB allies will escape and split and the Super Novas will probably rise to power. Those are my predictions, One Piece is simply epic.

I don't agree with all the people that say One Piece anime isn't good, or it gets bad around the CP9 arc. IMO, the best part of the anime was during that arc. The thing with the manga vs anime, at least with One Piece, it almost seems like One Piece was made to be an anime. The Manga just happens so fast, with so much stuff crammed into every chapter. But the anime, it paces it out just right. Anime doesn't have to be incredibly fast paced in order to be good. Sometimes slowing down at dramatic moments improves the delivery.

Nah, I've largely dispensed with that convention now. Maybe if you are posting RAW spoilers of the next chapter or something.

It's a possibility to be sure. Luffy is kinda broken right now after all. Also, there needs to be some way for the SH crew to be reassembled, so either that's going to be its own "arc" or it's gonna happen via a time skip.

I see where people who read manga are coming from, but I usually prefer anime. I just feel that colour, music, and voice acting add so much more to the experience. Man I wish I didn't have a fucking bandwidth cap or I'd download like all the One Piece episodes in a month.
