Could be some related but different fruit, such as a storm fruit that would allow him to also throw lightning at a scaffold for example. | ||

I'm going to go ahead and take it a step further - he has Uranus, which enables him to control the weather, and is possibly a devil fruit. It all fits together with him being the most wanted man. This leaves two other alternatives: Uranus and Pluton. We know that Pluton is a ship via the Water 7 arc and that the blueprints rest with Tom the ship builder. Tom does have a connection to the Roger pirates but he was found guilty of creating Roger's ship, not for being part of the Roger crew (you would think that the latter would be a far bigger issue). Therefore, I doubt that it was the Pluton blueprints which Roger found, or rather, I doubt it was the blueprints alone which Shiki caught wind of. Going back to the Edd war, it is said that the Roger pirates were saved by a freak storm that came out of nowhere which sunk half of Shiki's fleet. Although it could have been a mixture of luck and Grand Line weather, there is too much emphasis placed on that statement so it makes me doubt it was just a coincidence. Additionally, the name "Uranus" is from Greek mythology: the progenitor god of the Sky. So, putting 2 and 2 together: Roger had an ancient weapon, Shiki's fleet was sunk by a freak storm, the name Uranus sounds storm-y. Now, bringing in Monkey D. Dragon here, he's got some serious weather powers and was present at Roger's execution. That puts him either in the proximity of Gold Roger's death to inherit the devil fruit / device, or perhaps indicates that he had some kind of personal connection to Roger (i.e., being part of his crew). But then again, both Moria and Doffy were there as well so it's a loose connection. | ||

Shiki heard that Roger had knowledge of an ancient weapon and where to find it (which he would have since he read the Skypiea poneglyph and probably others). No one said that Roger actually had the ancient weapon in his hands. Freak storms are pretty common in the Grand Line, and it would be really weird for one of the ancient weapons to be a devil fruit--why would a storm fruit be considered an ancient weapon more so than some other powerful fruit? Well FYI this theory is just speculation on my part but First, in relation to the name, you say that because Pluton is a ship it can't be associated with "Pluto" the classical god of death. I don't understand why you think this is the case since we don't know what the ship does. It could very well be known as a bringer of death due to it's destructive capabilities. Or it can have some crazy ability like draining the life of people. Additionally, we know that Poseidon is a mermaid that can control sea kings - which corresponds pretty well with the classical god Poseidon, the god of the ocean. So it's not completely baseless to speculate on the function of an ancient weapon based on its name. It is true that Shiki says that Roger knows the location of the ancient weapon and it is also true that the weather may have been a coincidence. However, based on the way the scene was handled I assume that the freak weather was not the result of chance. Reason being, Roger says that he will crush all of them. It could just have been bravado at the time, but it is mentioned that half of Shiki's fleet is destroyed because of the storm, not because Roger went crazy and sunk all of the ships. So it doesn't seem unreasonable to speculate that the storm wasn't random at all. Also, in regards to the question of Uranus being a devil fruit, note that I said that it could be a devil fruit or a device. Both could work. Additionally, Shirasohi is a human weapon so there is a precedent for an ancient weapon being a person. As for the question on why one devil fruit might be singled out as an ancient weapon, it may be a question of magnitude. If you can destroy an entire nations with a hurricane (like in real life) then I don't see why that wouldn't be classified as an ancient weapon. Keep in mind that Poseidon has the ability to control the Sea Kings - which could be a crazy destructive power but not something completely ludicrous. | ||

Enel can use Maxim to create massive lightning storms via a combination of chemical vats that produce storm clouds and his own lightning abilities. One of these thunderbolts is enough to burn down an entire village, and Enel can create a giant thundercloud that can destroy an entire island. :thinking: | ||

lol you have to be Tom/Franky/Iceburg level shipwright in order to draw plans of such ship. he had time and since it flies the only thing he really needs to create is the lightning enhancers, everything else is just there to make it look pretty functionally its like Mr3s and Aces ship except theres didnt have weapons | ||

you should just rewatch episode 185, Ark Maxims structure is much greater than you think. its not something that an ordinary person (what i meant here is that not an extraordinary shipwright, we all know Enel is a God) would draw its plans in his "free time". you are aware that we are not talking about some casual weapons here right? its a weapon that capable of destroying entire island like sabaody. | ||
