Oda made a comment on the manga’s future in Jump Festa 2016 which was held on 19/20 Dec.
“My readers ask me “When will Sanji appear?” again and again these days. Even Hirata-san (Sanji’s voice actor) asks me “When the heck will Sanji appear..?”
Next year is Sanji’s year!
Finally it’s time to reveal the mystery about Sanji’s birth! The straw hats who didn’t made much appearances in Dressrosa arc will have many highlights next year.”
Also I love how Oda is going to give the others more screen time to balance it out. Kishi could have made Naruto way better following this example from Oda -.-
i dunno the dressrossa arc felt unfocused though since it kept jumping between characters so things took so long to get concluded

I didn't quite feel that way, though I can understand where the people who do are coming from. I like, though, that it all came together in the end of the arc. Felt satisfied with how all the characters that were introduced came together in the end.
Did anyone else watch the latest episode of the anime and feel that the animation for Doflamingo's Conqueror's haki was really over the top? The purple aura I could have accepted to present him as an evil presence, but black/red bolts of lightning?
I hope they tone it down a bit, the images in the manga, even without color, convey things really well.
Plus, if I recall correctly, when Luffy and Chinjao were fighting Luffy had a different color of Conq Haki.
Hard to say what actually holds meaning, though, without any information from the manga. Toei could be coloring it all randomly for shits and giggles, for all I know.

Yeah but black/red bolts of lightning are a bit too much for me. They look silly, clutter the screen unnecessarily and honestly don't add much too the scene. Honestly it looked like a random Getsuga Tenshou found its way into One Piece over from Bleach. I mean I love the OP anime, especially for the music. But that was just so out of place.
Watched the One Piece special and didn't think it was very good. Some fans are comparing it to G8 arc, but it just felt bloated because of it's movie length without any redeeming fights at the end. It had nice animation and felt like it could have been as good as Strong World or Z, but failed.
Like most One Piece filler it involves somehow handicapping the Straw Hats and only letting them fight head on to at the end. The main villain is a tactician so some of his ideas were clever, but others felt too convenient like the island's plant defense. I was surprised when he said with a serious face that telling them about the rebound shroom was part of the plan, but I guess he thought otherwise the rest of the Straw Hats might flee? The marine double agent was not a surprise, but I'm sure everyone saw that coming. They had just been betrayed by the Foxy Pirate marine double agents who were new crew mates and then allow for another new crew mate to join? I didn't understand how the bullet knocked out Luffy briefly if it didn't hit him. Was it another sea stone bullet like film Z? Sea stone bullets existing in the non canon arcs only is weird given how useful it is.
Then the fights at the end were not interesting since there was only one major named enemy that fought. The marine mechanic and foxy double agent didn't have much of a fight, the majority was vs generic marines. If we have to see Straw Hats vs generic marines at least make some strong generic marines like the body guards that follow Garp or ones from the War of the Best arc.
So the only somewhat decent fight was Luffy vs the Tactician, but it was settled quickly once most of the handicaps were gone. There wasn't much comedy or fan service to carry it either.
Is the next one piece episode a filler ?(according to the preview) i can't seem to remember if luffy ever fought against Trebol after he stopped doflamingo's foot (the conquerers haki clash scene) i think what was only left was their 1v1

ah G8 arc, probably one of the few fillers from long shounen series that i've actually enjoyed that shit was pretty fun from start to finish
yeah g8 was great i discovered it accidently and watched it all in a day and even if its not action packed in terms of fighting its still just enjoyable to watch for some reason

He fought Trebol for a little and complained that his haki-imbued attacks didn't work against him. Then Law cut through him with "Sterben" and Trebol blew up all his goo to kill them.

Prepare for a super long drawn out poorly paced episode again. Toei going to stretch it thin so the explosion comes at the very very end of the episode or even just leave them covered in the goo about to blow for 'suspense'
I don't watch the anime all that much anymore but I'm pretty disappointed with the bits of dressrosa I've watched. Toei shitting the bed hard from what I've seen anyway.

God, I'd love if a decent studio would take over One Piece and just redo it from the beginning, like they did with Hunter X Hunter.
With Steam sales it's always a decent plan to wait and see if they get the Daily Deal or whatever, right? That discount will be there for the entirety of the sale, might as well see if it goes down further at some point before you commit.
