The last two Archs kinda ended the same way, Luffy and crew being heroes, saving the day. That's cool and all, but I think I'd be pretty amazing if the next arc goes a little darker, not to dark, but It'd be intense if a few key figures dies, maybe some of the SH crew.

Maybe not that likely, but I think it'd make things even more exciting!

So while Itachi could still be a secret agent of CP0, I would very much expect him to be part of Dragon's crew as a double agent.

it'll be this way for sure. if you remember it was like this during the first grandline, until later on when they met someone really strong that they can't beat and that's when things turned dark.
given they just did a 2 year time skip, it'll be very undwhelming if it seems their new skill get crushed too soon

I doubt it. Itachi is a man who murdered his entire family regardless of innocence or guilt at the behest of his superiors. In the One Piece universe he'd be a bad guy. A good guy in One Piece would tell them to go fuck themselves when facing similar orders as seen with Jaguar D. Saul.

hes like Aokiji, Aokiji joined the attack on Ohara, let Robin leave (like how Itachi saved Sasuke) and like Itachi he "left" the side he was on, presumably to work more behind the scenes
