Introducing the enemies all at once? That's unlikely for Oda. On the Sky Island arc you'd see each "boss" right during the battles, without previous introductions. Well, I guess on CP9 arc he did this introductions too, but he never showed the powers before the battles.

Also, incoming power up for Hordy.

I have no idea what was going on in that chapter. I assume that every new character that was introduced is an enemy? And everyone is heading for the plaza? Something like that?

Seems like there are a lot of plazas lately..and I feel like there are going to be some bigger enemies, because I honestly can't see Hordy and his fishmen (except sword-octopus) being a big threat, unless maybe ODing on those energy steroids makes him insanely strong.

I agree :T

So far we haven't seen any of the strawhats do anything... just a bunch of backstory. This being the first arc after Luffy and the crew return from there 2(?) years of training, I feel like Oda should've shown off Luffy's new skills already.

I for one took this of more of a teaser to what would make Hodie actually a threat (that steroid overuse)to the strawhats, because right now Zoro only lost cus he couldnt hold his breath (...) which was lame way to win a fight. imo atleast.

the manga is damn slow paced atm, i can't wait till every single chapter is about the battles like the 1 streak of CP9 battles... GIEF! there are always introductions like this but this one seems to be really packed of busy art which is very distracting.

The longer the buildup, the greater the pleasure from the fights imo.

I'd love to see some Charlotte Linlin action since she "protects" the place, but it'd be good if Oda kept her for a later story too...

I am so into this story its incredible, Oda really is a master.

imo a little slow paced too. But this is because i don't really like the story behind the fishmen :/ would have loved a more epic tiger-what's-his-name-again ? a more reasonable Jinbei and a more in-depth antagonist van der Dekken. I like how the story goes on and almost everyone is forgetting van der Dekken

. i guess he will have his time later, but still i would have loved more background info on van der Dekken.

Another problem is: the bullshit fight between Zoro vs Hody. come on, it was a situation about death or life and clearly Zoro was stronger, it was just a bad excuse that Zoro had to lose because of "drowning". Remember Arlong Arc ? Sanji could fight forever underwater ... Imo, this Arc is not as good as other arcs in regard to fighting/action , but has potential to increase the depth to the one-piece universe.

Wish: Some tenryubiito ass-spanking ! And revenge for the fishmen on the "bad" humans. That would make something up. But it seems this doens't fit with Oda's morale codex...

The worst part about this arc is its RIGHT AFTER the power-up, a power-up that looks like it's going to last a super long time, so I can't see them losing or even getting close to losing...heck techincally they aren't even in the new world yet so if they have problems here then obviously its going to require another power-up later or something of the like.

Honestly this arc is just so Shirahoshi can become their nakama, they're totally going to use that casket thing to age/shrink her in some crazy Oda way that will turn out super-awesome.

A fishman/mermaid nakama, would be so absolutely Oda's style. After all this fishman vs human grudge, it is absolutely certain that Luffy will get a fishman nakama, just to set an example to the One Piece World. And after this arc, a fishman in a human's crew would have much more potential, to create more interesting conflicts. So yeah, basically we can vote now, who will become the new fishman nakama ...

I say it's Fukaboshi or Hacchi. Hacchi has grown affection to the Straw-Hats, but Fukaboshi is the strong one.

That or Shirahoshi. Controling Sea Kings is nothing to make fun about.

Prolly won't be Hachi. They don't need another swordsman... already have 2.

Shirahoshi is intriguing because Blackbeard Pirates have San Juan Wolf, so the Straw Hats will likely get a giant nakama of some sort. One other piece of evidence in support of this is she actually has some "growth" to do since she probably will be able to control the sea kings, but she obviously does not have control now it seems.

I wouldn't put it past Jinbe, but I honestly don't like the idea of a former shichibukai joining them.

Most likely will be shirahoshi or someone we haven't seen yet I think.
