Bleach up until Aizen's defeat was excellent. It's not as good as One Piece but it's still good. The full-bring arc was kind of meh, I didn't really like it.

Things started picking up again with the Quincy arc. I can't believe no one cares that Genruyshi (old fire guy) died. Also, WHAT ABOUT UNOHANA?! omg rip

Otherwise things are still quite solid imo. Maybe it's the pace that's annoying you guys.

Regarding Unohana, there is also very little character development on her as well. Throughout the entire series she never really did anything, beside every now and then showing up to heal people, but this is probably because of bleach own fault for introducing so many character that it hard to find any space for them. What grind my gear about this was that throughout the entire series she was shown to be a healer and gave off a a persona that seems like a nice character and this was shown through how her zanboktou worked (big healing fish dude) AND she was captain of the 4th division (healing medical division). Then her personality just went complete 180 and she became food for Kenpachi.....oh did I mention we still don't know what her bankai does (I know they showed it but we still don't know crap).

I personally think that Kubo realized that he didn't have any other character left that would feed Kenpachi well. So therefore he grab one of the least developed captain and created a bull crap story about her past and then turn her into desert while completely destroying her identity he had built. But this is just my Kubo Theory so I will get back to you more on it when I finish my thesis.
