Anime picks back up next Tuesday with the Ichigo/Ulquiorra fight. Then it should be clear sailing for the next 5-6 months.

I'm assuming from Gin's grin at the end that he has something big in store though. Of course, he has to: he can't die to Ichigo's bankai (which one-handed grimmjow could beat with ease without even using his resurrection), and he should be the test where Ichigo's scarmask is used again and tamed. I'm thinking he'll reveal a second ability to his bankai that was in some way reliant on Ichigo hitting him to release.
If not though his bankai is extremely underpowered: it's basically his shikai and that was weak in itself, at least compared to someone like Aizen who's shikai is basically unstoppable and auto-win.

Sword fiends has been turned into a complete, 16-month anime arc after excellent ratings and a poll of teenage girls was very positive. Look for a return to the story in Oct 2011.

1) Soi Fon's huge ass canon bankai, (stealth and swiftness rules)
2.) Gin's buffed Shinkai

Every few months I'll read through the Bleach wikia pages just to see how ridiculous the "story" (I am unsure of that word is even applicable at this point) has become. It always makes me cringe, but I cannot seem to stop myself from doing this.

Gin is such a cool fucken character...... his shikai was called "shoot" or "fire" as i recall from the first few episodes when ichigo goes to SS... wished his bankai was some sort of gun or something... but a fucken long ass sword, sure he has hallow form, be i kinda hopped he was cool and strong like aizen that didn't need hallow form. now hes some scrub like that black guy (his name escapes me). ALLLLLLL this build up about Gin being all like devil clown fucked up type of guy wth a deadly yet mysterious backgroup and we get THIS?!?!?!?
