Can't say that Daenerys is the only Targaryen survivor, we have Maester Aemon on the wall. As well as most noble houses probably having some Targaryen blood, but not the name due to houses being patrilinear (Targaryens didn't exclusively inbred, e.g. Rhaegar's wife was Elia Martell).
This is more of a question about spoiler rule here: + Show Spoiler +
Are apendices treated as part of the book, or is it possible to freely discuss background history/bloodlines that weren't explicitly or very vaguely described in the show (anything before the rebellion and the preceding events), that aren't the part of the plot?

I would definitely consider the appendix part of the book. Best not to mention anything as the big red text says. You'll get lynched in this thread for just saying you've read the books.

I thought it was already mentioned if you've read the books gtfo and post in the other thread instead of this one anyways?
If they accidentally spoil that, they WILL spoil something much bigger by accident as well.
Nothing has been spoiled so far. Like i think in episode 1 (or 2) it was already explained why it's Jon Snow. They said it's a bastard name for the North. I'm pretty sure more bastard names got explained, (but not all) and I think if you get why it's Snow is Snow, you can guess other bastards names when you hear them.
Edit: Just saw one of the quotes on the series wiki: Jon Snow: "What's my name?" Samwell Tarly: "Jon Snow." Jon Snow: "And why is my surname 'Snow'?" Samwell Tarly: "...Because you're a bastard from the North."
Also, the name Flowers has been said at some point, but most likely once or twice.

Please see the the OP for HBO supplied material that can be considered spoiler free. If you use any of that in this thread please make sure to reference where exactly you got your information from (ie link to the Youtube video).

I don't think they have In the Reach (Highgarden), it would be Flowers
So is that book spoilers or what? <.<
What exactly is the reason you keep on pretending to not have read the books? If you don't want to spoil is it just that you try to keep others from being spoiled or what?

Pretending? I haven't even read a sentence from the books. Sorry for asking a question regarding whether something was explained in the show yet or not... Didn't realize this was going to turn into some kind of controversy...

By saying he's pretended to not have read the books, you're pretty much confirming what he's saying is true and a spoiler. I know the guy IRL and he hasn't read the books at all.

I am familiar with this interaction which is why i checked that he hadn't made surprisingly good predictions before i decided to post. Just wondering how your IRL friend who hasn't read the books calls Robbs wife Jeyne instead of Talysa. Maybe he lied to you aswell?

I googled Rob stark wife doctor in google images so i wouldnt spoil myself and then clicked on the image that matched her. If that isn't her name then idk what to say. I didn't remember her name so I had to google it.

I think we all just need to calm down and wait a day for the new episode to come out.
The wrong name of the wife just got me curious. I wasn't blaming anyone on spoiling anything. Seems like the explanation is in the weird workings of lord google.
