He most certainly didn't say french, it was like 'frushed' or something similar sounding but it wasn't French, that's for sure.

The only character I really wish would just go away is Melisandre. I'm not a big fan of either the character or the actress. She's been a very cookie cutter, one-dimensional evil zealot type, and I thought she was the most forgettable character in all of her scenes again today. (I mean, yes, the prediction with Arya was cool, but just like all of her interactions: they hinge on the other character.)

To label Littlefinger as "evil" is incredibly simplistic. He's selfish, ambitious, and pragmatic. Most (arguably all) people are selfish, and since when has being ambitious or pragmatic been a crime? I don't ever really recall him taking sadistic pleasure in torture like say Joffrey might. Littlefinger just loves playing "the game". Varys isn't Mr. Order either as he pursues his own agenda in what he believes to be best for the realm as a whole, or at the very least the idea of it. If you think that conversation they had was as simple as good vs evil/chaos vs evil, then I'm pretty sure a lot of the deeper meaning and ramifications of what these two men were arguing about just went over your head - or that you just didn't bother you reflect on it much. You fanboys are so brutal. *OBVIOUSLY* Chaos isnt an ends to Littlefinger since they've been telegraphing the fact that he wants to be King for 2 seasons now. That is the point, for a man so supposedly so evily genius his ambition is pretty pedestrian -- and ridiculous since his House will never be allowed to take the Throne. Vary is the *definition* of order because his only goal is to bring as much stability to the realm as possible, no matter who sits on the throne for that to happen. Its even a less logical ambition than LIttlefinger -- who they at least tried to seem like a vengeful prick who wants power not only for the sake of power but as a way of giving the high born a screw you. Varys just walks around, "oh I want order" but why? he is a foreigner so why have any loyalty to Westeros at all?

Why does wanting order necessarily have to have anything at all to do with being loyal to Westeros? Maybe he wants what he thinks is best for Westeros, i.e., order, because he likes the position he is currently in and the associated comforts? Chaos certainly has a chance at disrupting that for him.

Varys just walks around, "oh I want order" but why? he is a foreigner so why have any loyalty to Westeros at all? You can call me a fanboy all day yet you've still failed to explain how Littlefinger is evil and namecalling isn't going to do it for you. They said a man of birth as low as Littlefinger's would never be a lord either, let alone marry into the head of the family of a great house. Littlefinger's ambitions as we know them aren't ridiculous, they're just extreme. Who sits on the iron throne is a crucial variable to stability in the realm, assuming that is really all he cares about, so I wouldn't necessarily say it doesn't matter to Varys who sits on it. We know from last episode that Varys urged king Aerys to not open the gates to Tywin's Lannister host during Robert's Rebellion, which would have inevitably meant months, if not years of more warfare and instability instead of the hasty peace that resulted from Twyin's sacking of King's Landing and the uprooting of the Targaryen dynasty from power. He wanted to keep Aerys on the throne for reasons I know not, even though he was clearly mad and a terrible king who caused nothing but chaos - something that generally isn't regarded as "good for the realm". It isn't as simple as order vs chaos. How is fighting for peace and stability not logical? About why Varys would have any loyalty to Westeros at all - I don't know if that's been directly answered or addressed yet in the show, but if you use your brain I'm sure you can theorize some reasonable possibilities. But if you don't want to use your brain at all and just want everything spoonfed to you, I can see how you would be upset about this show.

They were there setting up gear and stuff when Jon and Ygritte came up and then suddenly it was nothing there except that wooden cross thingy when they were on their feet and turned around to look south. It's like they forgot to CGI them or something. xD The redhead is so hot that she melted the wall beneath their feet. They will not appear in subsequent episodes.

I really hope that's the case. If it was actually "French", it would probably be the single biggest fuck-up in the entire show lol. Not that it would have any plot-related ramifications at least.

Edit: Im about 3 posts late... zzz Anyways, episode was fine. You can definitely tell theyre in the long haul for GoT seasons. And theyre executing it pretty well. The only scenes that I cannot bear are the Sam scenes. That guy just needs to die already.

I know they are going for the 'meek hero' play with Sam, but your right. He needs to just die. Stop providing him with a love interest and kill him off.

His allegiance lies with Targaryens (Season 1, Episode 5, Arya hears Varys talking with Illyrio Mopatis about getting back Targaryens on the Iron Throne and that Stark and Lannister war is going to happen too early for their plan to succeed), so I think that it matters quite a lot who is the king (Joffrey is considerably easier to deal with than Stannis or even Robb) and that realm doesn't end the war and drag it out through the winter until Daenerys is ready. All this keeping order thing is only the act, order can only be reached by reinstating the true royal bloodline.
