In terms of talent, Jamie, Selmy and Loras would probably all be similar in their primes. You gotta keep in mind that Loras is a lot younger than the other two and still has a lot of room to reach his potential. If we were just talking in terms of "if you just told two of these guys to kill each other, who would win" kind of situation though, all the faceless men would be on the top of the list, because they can easily change their faces and poison the other guy. | ||

Barristan Selmy, Carl Drogo, Jamie Lannister (with 2 hands), Quiro halfhand, Syrio Forel Tier 2 : Jeor Mormont , Sandor Clegane, Eddard Stark, John Snow, Brienne of Tarth, Robert Baratheon (when he was young), Bronn, Loras Tyrell Tier 3 : Gregor Clegane, Thoros of Myr, Jorah Mormont, Beric Dondarrion, Stannis Baratheon, Yoren, Robb Stark Probably forgot some ppl. This is who I expect to win in a 1v1 melee combat. | ||

I think he's part of the theme of fame makes people get a reputation for a better fighter, and humble personalities are usually underestimated, with jamie, on opposite ends of the spectrum, he fought 3 men better than barriston selemy, at thier prime, one who is the best fighter of all time, and won, with 6 northerns who weren't particularly good fighters and a man only known to be a coward from a tournament. | ||

Well, my reasoning is to 98% based on information in parts of the books that already have been aired in the tv series. Like information about half-hand that "now" is dead, that he was famous at both sides of the Nights watch vs wildling conflict for his fighting. + Show Spoiler + Jaimie became part of kings watch at that time, when it was really good warriors in it, and at an early age. But agree that ned probably could be t1, Hard to tell how much the number advantage matters. | ||
