they should have just tacked on the Jon Snow portion and the Others to the end of episode 9 and it would have made a FAR better finale.

The Hound presumably left based on his plans on the previous episode, but there really was no mention of him that I caught. I thought the last episode perhaps left it hanging, but Sansa was rather adamant about staying. Presumably, Theon's men burned it, but they didn't explain how they left. Perhaps they used the tunnels? But it wasn't very well explained. Particularly as there was a besieging force there as well, so did Bran and co walk invisibly through the sieging force which you would have thought would've occupied Winterfell by now. So then why would Bran leave if Winterfell was secured? Did the entire besieging force race off after Theon's men to leave Winterfell defenceless again? That part made no sense to me at all. This is easy. Robb said to Bolton to offer the ironborn freedom if they give up Theon. Then we are shown Winterfell is surrounded, and ironborn knock Theon out. 1+1=2

If this forum had a like function I would like your post. The season finale was underwhelming compared to the books. And not because the show left things out, but because the show CHANGED things for the worst. The books just simply tell a better story.

The sacking of winterfell and not telling who sack it was pretty fucking stupid.

Or why they would let the Ironborns burn the city and then just surrender 'Hey guys we fucked up your 'capitol' but we surrender now, here is Theon'. Edit: About the 2nd part, I guess they didn't want to go against the word of Robb, but they probably would have moved in to attack if they didn't see any signs of surrender?

If I tried to answer your other questions I would need to spoil things for you :D Either work out answers to your other questions by yourself or wait for Season 3 ![]()

And I didn't quite understand the Winterfell part. They sacked the keep and just left, while they were surrounded? I assume Theon was the bargaining chip, but how do they get away with burning everything?

Didn't she explain that herself in one of the episodes? Her mother died when she was giving birth to Tyrion. Then Tyrion sent her daughter to Dorn and she thinks he wanted to send Joffrey to fight outside the walls so he dies as well. As far as she is concerned she was just protecting her children ![]()

Keep in mind these guys are in a really powerful and destructive crowd mentality. You would have to be to slaughter villagers and hang those women like they had recently done. They are acting like complete assholes because this is the mindset they have driven themselves into. They probably feel like they are kings of the world after exhibiting power over the villagers they have slain or mistreated and felt justified in treating two strangers like shit.

I'm guessing it has to do with their limited budget. The thing between Cersei and Tyrion seems to be a sibling rivalry, but it was never made clear whether someone did actually come to kill Tyrion in the night. Remember that his squire is also a spy for Varys so it could all be a trick to get him out of King's landing. All in all, I thought it was hilarious when Tyrion woke up in some tiny room/closet and that Maester smirking at him. Can anyone explain the deal with the Faceless man? How can they can they change faces? I'm leaning towards it being a mask because the assassin did always have the same expression. Either that or he was in some zen state the whole time.

It is a fantasy series, though they tend to let you forget about it. Also, the best line added from the books to the series so far: "thank you, wise bald man".
