That is wrong on so many levels...
That's not true.. Book 3 > 1 > 2 > 5 > 4 or something like that.
I prefer book 2 to book 1 but I agree that 5 and 4 are definetly behind. Well they are still good but they have a feeling of "slow" and stalling for the awesomesness that can be 6 and 7 (if martin doesn't die before).
Since book 2 and 3 are my favorites, this season and the next better be epic ! I can't wait for those that never read the books to see the plots (and I await some reactions to some twists with a troll face ).
Prepare your heart to be surprised, saddened and relieved multiple times.
Oh I also hope they toned down the mindless porn of the season 1, it's not doing the story any favor tbh. I don't mind where it's deserved but sometimes in S1 it was very awkward, like the lesbian scene.

That scene is kinda necessary to explain how Dany wins over Drogo. (Oh wait, you meant the Ros scene in King's Landing).
I do think that Viserys in the bath with (Jhiqi?) was just a way to educate the audience on Targaryen lore without boring them. Should have just left that out and filled in other gaps.
And poor Theon. He's probably the hardest character to understand from book 1 / season 1. I do like how Ros shows up in King's Landing for Littlefinger's "I'm going to fuck them" monologue. (Yeah the sex was stupid, but where else is Littlefinger going to give a cool monologue like that?)
But like the violence, anyone who is distracted by the visceral details is missing the good parts. GoT wouldn't be GoT if you took out the obscenity.
In any case can't wait till its on, 3 weeks or so to go!!
EDIT: Thanks guy below me, I had forgotten a bunch of stuff, pretty sure you are right. Also sorry for the spoiler, misread top of the page. I'll remove it I guess.

So yeah, me being one to hope that the show follows the book as closely as possible, don't you effectively not see Bronn at all in the second book? You hear of his victories, and he eventually joins mommy after she releases Jamie, but if that is in fact in the second book, it would have to be ridiculously late......also the one shot of Danny waiting with her entourage outside the walls of one of the cities, suuuurely that is in the third books as well, second book if I recall is just her being a noob, then getting her fat "kill people" go to guy, and barristan the "b"old, then getting slaves [third book?]? Maybe I remember this wrong. Also Stannis looks like a douche, whilst Davos looks good enough, he is one of my fave characters so hopefully he does get enough screen time. Sorry for the rant.
Has anyone noticed that in the title sequence the bands encircling the "sun" tell the story of how things got to be how they are. You see the Targyrians attacking with their dragons, then you see the lion and the stag bringing down the dragon, and then you see the stag standing proudly and holding his head up as the lion and wolf are around him.

Yeah the scene with Dany is alright. I was talking about the scene with Littlefinger.
I GET why they did the lesb scene with littlefinger, but I don't agree with it there while littlefinger describes where he comes from (regarding Ned and Cat). My issue with it is: "well those really interested will listen to the monologue or already know the story but since a lot of our audience is actually dumb let's put lesbians".
Overall the serie was great and this is my only real complaints (it felt out of place) even if I think it would have gained in clarity with 3-4 more episodes. The people I spoke with that never read the books could hardly remember any name of the film and the relations between them were very vague.
I always wait till a series I'm interested in end it's cycle. Then I get it, so I can view it at my pleasure, 8 episodes a time, lol. Game of Thrones is the only series I'm thinking of following week in, week out. Godamit it's good! xD
