Sir, please reread what was asked. Why it was asked was because there are many people like my self who just started reading the book#1 after they started watching Game of Thrones. We can't go to any other thread with out getting the whole book series spoiled for us.
Now the spoilers in this thread were getting crazy, and I agree with the mods stances about just flat out saying NO to everything. It was the easiest foolproof why to go. Now after the airing of tonight's show, Book#1-Game of Thrones (watching or reading it) becomes the bare minimum-non spoiler topic.
And as this seems like it may go on for a few seasons, I think this would be that best format. No book or other types of possible spoils till the end, then book#2 because the new "line in the sand" as we could call it.
I agree with this. Not being able to discuss aspects of the book which the TV show has already shown is silly. And, lets be honest. Game of Thrones was published in 1996. I realize, sadly, not everyone has read the books before the TV show came out, so it's reasonable not to make blatant spoilers.
However, not being able to discuss a 15 year old book, that has been adapted for television, after the television show has already shown that part of the storyline seems... silly. Isn't there a statue of limitations on spoilers?
P.S. Frodo destroys the ring.
When people ask you to not discuss the book in this thread but in the other, you just do that. Its not that difficult.
And the book discussion has spoiled the TV series so much for me. Among other stuff, it spoilered the fate of Ned Stark for me. Therefore episode 9 was just a bit of a yawn.
I really regret that I read this thread becasue it made watching the series only half as fun.
Also, it takes away from the fun of speculating about future events. Everytime people who havent read the book speculate about what might happen someone who has read it comes with "Lololol you guys are so wrong, you just have no idea :D :D :D". Fucking annoying.
Unfortunately this is not TeamThrones and we can't dedicate 4 threads to the Game of Thrones TV Series so we will have to make do with the 2/3 threads that we already have to cover the major groups of no spoilers / spoiler discussion.
If you feel like you have something to discuss with regards to content covered by the TV series in the book but do not want spoilers, feel free to make an intelligent blog about it and your ideas. You could probably make a blog post about speculation too if you have legitimate topics to discuss. If you only have a couple questions, I'm sure the people who have read the book are willing to talk with you in pm.
why are people complaining about not being able to talk about spoilers, the person who started the thread is the one who decides what the thread should/should not have in it, if you want to posts spoilers why don't you make your own thread to discuss the difference between the book and the tv series, people like myself have not read the book but like to discuss the tv series after each episode comes out but i do not want to come to a thread to talk about it if people are going to be 'you can't tell me what to do' and posts spoilers to annoy people, put yourselves in our shoes, would you like it if someone did it to you? no so fuck off and stop being stupid, there is no need to be as immature as you're being

To be fair, most people were responsible and posted spoilers in spoiler quotes, and then idiots just decided to click them anyways and then complained. Of course a few people didn't spoiler spoilers, but those are the people that weren't going to follow the OP anyways, and they'll still be spoling stuff in the future. It's a shame this thread had to get a makeover because a few people couldn't click the [s] button.

Well there are two sides to that, some people were responsible and spoilered appropriately but most people just simply used the spoiler tag and that was way too ambiguous become some people were spoiler-tagging their comments about the most recent episode, about stuff that's happened in the first book that is yet to happen in the show, and stuff that's happened in the third book. We got to a point where a majority the posts on a page were entirely spoiler-tagged and then we couldn't really discuss anything without clicking one them, at which point you'd be spoiled or not depending on which category you fell under. Removing all spoilers was just the safest way to deal with it.

QUITE TRUE! I almost failed a few classes because I didn't pay attention to lectures, but rather was reading the e-books on my PDA
I actually watched all the 9 episodes last week in 2 days and man, i don't even how did i lose airing time of this show, i mean i visited piratebay TV show section over and over looking for something and only show Game of Thrones and without doing any research assumed its like boring medieval show about kings and stuff, i'm glad that i was soooo wrong about this, i cannot wait for episode 10. This show is so freaking amazing, and i smell its gonna be even better with future episodes.

Yeah, I hope its a double length episode or something, after watching 9 episodes in 1 day, waiting a week and a half for one more... gah, spoiled t_t
Well, since there are 5 written books with more to come, you MUST expect it to be sorta open-ended for now. I mean that in the way that everyone should be aware by now that the story is longer and more complicated.
