Not going to spoil but that post is just speculation, relax guys. How is a 11 year old being hunted by the city's watch going to stab a guy surronded by half a dozen knights? Remember, she just got picked up by Yoren too. Do you think he's going to just let her stay in the city?
As for the Wall, as someone said, it's pretty much the dinosaur affect. Besides, half the wall is rapists and thieves who obviously aren't going to be believed and probably don't give a shit either.

As for wall being the proof of White Walkers, it is not. As far as they all know, some ancient king made it to impress his lover or some similar shit. Considering we had people build Pyramids for bullshit reasons it is not far fetched.
|
my guess about the wall is that it wasnt originally made to keep out specifically the white walkers. when you throw up a wall like that, id imagine it was made to keep out armies, like an army of giants or whatever, considering its size. so i wonder if back in the day there was this ancient civilization up there that they couldnt conquer because of the terrain/whatever and so they established the wall and the night's watch.
just doesnt seem plausible that there is really any threat up there though. how could they possibly get through the wall? why do the rangers even range up there?

Or you could use the book thread to compare the two.
Of course it changed though, people kept spoiling the show for people who hadn't read the books.

It's for the White Walkers, this has been said 100s of times. A 60 foot wall could keep out giants, the massiveness of the wall is probably to block the WW's magic

I'm am so excited for the last episode. Especially but not only because i've read it.

Or it could be to keep the giants out, didn't the wildling chick say the naked dude had giants blood in him?

Give me a break. There are clearly two "markets" for discussion: one for show only and one for books+show, and thus we have made two different threads for each of them. The former market would not be able to properly discuss a "show only" discussion if people who had read the book came in every other post and posted spoilers. Please try to see past the whining of little kids who get banned here and see that we are actually very reasonable people and not "power tripping" nerds.

But back on topic, who else is pumped yet sad that the Season Finale is this weekend? Long wait... and there are so much that has yet to be done with the plot so I can't believe it is ending. But I can't wait to see why the place it will end will end up being the end of the book.

I am, it's only 48 hours away but there's so much I want to see.
It will suck waiting an entire year for season 2 =/
|
Yeah, sotked as fuck. Why else would I be constantly checking this thread? ;D
Sorry if I made that last post look like a spoiler, I don't actually know if Arya will stab him. I just feel like eventually, that Joffrey vs Arya fight will have a round two. Obviously she isn't gunna ninja in while he's king and stab him, though. ^__^

Sooooo sad that it is going to end and we will all have to wait ~1 year for next season which will hopefully be longer but probably will not be zzzzzzzzzz

To clarify what he is saying. This thread is for the HBO GoT show only. The other Thread is for ALL the books and the HBO show. There is a void for people that just read Game of Thrones book#1. I just got done with book#1 my self. So I would like to talk about who tried to kill Bran the 2nd time. It doesn't work out well in this thread because you can't talk about the details of the book. And I'm sure by book 2 you would know the answer, so it would just get spoiled for me.
I know most people have either read all the books or haven't read any of them. But a few of us just started reading as the show came out. So we are kinda stuck in limbo.
So it would be nice if after the last show, we could talk about the book#1. I mean what reason would there not too?

I agree with this. If something on page 300 hasn't been mentioned by episode 10 (page 700) or whatever then it's probably not going to be brought up. I see no reason why it can't be discussed, if not put in spoilers at least.

Yeah I was thinking this also, I mean to try and give those of us who haven't read the details we missed, and also the people who don't want the Series spoiled for them to have some sort of discussion area as well.
|
That becomes really weird, though. What about the people who read up to book 2, but havn't read further? What if they want to talk about THEIR shit, but don't want to go into the other thread cause they dont want to be spoiled for books three and four?
How many ASOI&F threads can you have? =P

Lord Mormont(The lord commander of the night's watch) and Benjen Stark(first ranger) both joined the Night's Watch voluntarily. So they shouldn't be compared to some of the rather rough bunch that do make up most of the night's watch. The real problem is that the white walkers haven't been seen in a long time, so even the most honorable/trustworthy in all of the 7 kingdoms would be met with alot of suspicion about seeing white walkers.

I'd strongly recommend that everyone buy the books once the season is out. Started reading the book but have stayed behind the TV shows and it is well worth it. Ordered the next 3 as well so I don't have to wait for season 2 ^^
I wonder how much "The Black" means to all the people that went there because they had no other choice.
I think after the season is done maybe allow discussion of book 1 in this thread as well?

Just discuss the books in the thread dedicated to them.
