I can't really say more about that without spoiling anything. Whatever fire resistance or lack thereof in the book, it is not apparent until much later. It was more about enjoying warmth than being immune to it. The TV show, unfortunately due to TV audiences, need to make many concessions and remove many of the implications, and/or make them painfully explicit. That being said, she never assumed her brother would not die, she simply, at that point, didn't care much about his death, as the shows/books development of how she felt about her brother showed.

She didn't get burned from the dragon eggs and she said fire cannot hurt the dragon or whatever. When she says that, she means it in the same sense that Viserys meant "wake the dragon". The Targaryens have the same sort of hereditary magical connection to dragons that the Starks have to the direwolves. Historically they've actually referred to themselves as dragons, but this is a metaphor. There is indeed a connection, but she is not literally a dragon in the form of a teenage girl. Edit: and specifically when she said that she was, she meant that she was the true heir to the Targaryen dynasty, not her brother. She is House Targaryen (and all that comes with the name) now.

![]() However, I never read the book, and if the book was this raunchy, then great job to HBO sticking close to the book I guess....

I know it's fun to compare the series and the books and talk about all that extra shit but could you please do that in the other thread? I know I am being nitpicky but come on, this thread is supposed to be completely safe. Stop talking about the books, at all please. I'd actually even be ok with it if you did talk about your extra stuff or make your comparisons but at least put it in spoilers.

I can't help but feel that the plot before the books take place is far more epic than the books ![]() Trust me it is not. Things are going to be moving much faster from now on. And when we get to season 3 that is going to be the best of all.

And I mean any spoilers. Any of your lore shit, anything that tv series hasn't revealed. I don't want to know any of it. I come here to read what people think about the tv show not to see people talk about what they know from the books. Ive read all the books, but I would be royally pissed if someone was spoiled for me in this series.

It's adding nothing to the character. ![]() However, I never read the book, and if the book was this raunchy, then great job to HBO sticking close to the book I guess.... Mose of the sexposition scenes were not in the book and there is a lot more sex and nudity in the show (relative to the run length). That said, what sex there is has a similar "tone" (if I can use that word) so it doesn't really feel out of place... just strangely emphasized (and I agree there is a little too much.)
