I can't think of one main character who has not suffered at least one of the following: 1) been maimed (Martin definitely loves the maiming), 2) been betrayed or shunned by someone close, 3) died, 4) sold off/given to some horrible spouse, or 5) lost close family members (this one applies to pretty much everyone). | ||
