If this becomes a success I will be so happy, and show it to everyone at my college and also show them the books.

P.S. The actor playing Jon Snow is no where near baller enough.

I have this sinking feeling that they're somehow rushing this, I just didn't feel that the world had a large enough scale. A smaller worry is that the acting might not be good enough, but I'm pretty sure this is because i had all their voices in my head and no actor could match that completely. P.S. The actor playing Jon Snow is no where near baller enough. I disagree, I think it looks really well done and we've barely seen anything, just a few brief previews and photos. They have a really good cast, and a lot of the actors fit their characters superbly (especially the children). We shouldn't worry about it until the first episode airs, which will set the pace of the series and how good it is (which I still think will be amazing).

It's more of a feeling with the sets, in my head everything was a lot bigger. I think my brain is trying to protect me by having low expectations. Side note: Whenever GRR Martin is on the screen I yell at him to finish the next goddamn book.

[B] P.S. The actor playing Jon Snow is no where near baller enough. I agree. The actor they have is just a skinny Sam. Jon should be badass. You can't be badass with curly hair.

Any images of Rob? And the khalasar is not nearly large or awestriking enough.

Okay but seriously, right off the bat Jaime and Viserys are absolutely perfect, they look just as douchebag-esque as I imagined. Jaime's hair should be more blonde and Viserys should be shorter, but that's about it. Likewise Littlefinger is way too tall, I hope through the magic of cinematography they emphasize his short stature. Robert is way too serious when he's supposed to be a jolly drunk, and Cersei is some kind of intelligent, insightful mastermind (wtf?) instead of the emotional, hotheaded bitch we all know and hate. We didn't get to see as much of the Wall and Essos as I had hoped, but the Wall looks pretty good. From that trailer though the khalasar was not as impressive as I imagined and I hope all the "riding through dothraki sea" scenes will be well done. We didn't get to see much of Drogo, but I hope the whole deal with his massive braid and tons of bells are done well also, that's supposed to be like the most distinguishing part of his character. And of course, we didn't get to see a bunch of other dudes - Arya, Sansa, Bran, the Hound, Tywin, etc - but hopefully they're done well also. The Hound/Gregor fight scene in particular looks like it should be awesome. Finally, apparently I have been pronouncing Baratheon and Targaryen wrong all of these years. Apparently it's Ba-RAH-theon when I thought it was Ba-RAY-theon and it's Tar-GARE-yen when I thought it was Tar-GAR-yen.

I just don't feel like they fit. And I expected Jorah to look different. Any images of Rob? And the khalasar is not nearly large or awestriking enough. Theres a point in the preview when you see Ned, Robb, Sansa and Bran all lined up (presumably welcoming the king). He looks quite like Sean Bean imo which is always nice. Jorah's actor is fucking excellent by the way, has a bjuejelar accent and is perfect to play a fallen knight imo. I agree with the hair but it'll be toned down in the show, it looks very forced in the 'behind the scenes' footage but I dont think the writers can miss something that glaringly obvious. I have confidence Lena Headey will be a more than hateable Cersei ![]()

I expect that the full size of the khalasar will be done with CGI as in lord of the rings--it just costs too much to get that many actors/costumes/horses/etc. This is maybe why it isn't included in the trailers yet. Also, I had the pronunciations of those names right because I re-listened to AGOT on audiobook last year :D I agree that I'm skeptical about Jon's casting. He was my favorite character, so I have high standards for him!

But seriously I hope they do all of Jon's trials, protecting Samwell and whatnot, at the Wall well. He had the most character development in all of AGoT except for maybe Daenerys and the two of them are supposed to be the grand mytharc protagonists or whatever so I hope these teen actors are ready!

Haha yeah, I was placing the accent on the wrong syllable in a few names (Daenerys, Cersei) and pronouncing Jaime in the Spanish way. Why not just spell his name Jamie if it's supposed to be pronounced like that...
