Awesome episode. Loved these in no particular order:

2. Sand snakes dead!
3. Jon grabbing Littlefinger reminding me of when Ned grabbed him in a similar fashion outside the brothel

6. Jon leaves winterfell as soon as Arya decides to go back lmao #starkreunions

In defense of Theon and his actions, there was no positive outcome for him staying and fighting. Euron would have just slit Yara's throat the second he took a step forward so even best case if he some how managed to win the fight(Like1% chance he beats Euron.) after his sister is still dead. Very nice episode for me, the best in long time, well developed story and dialogues, Euron was a badass, Theon will never recover from torture, he has to die soon (very good acting btw), the only thing that seemed awkward was the Grey Worn scene, not relevant at all, Nymeria and Arya reunion for me means that Arya no longer belongs to the North.

not knowing the map, they could go from Dragonstone to Casterly Rock without ships?

Because plot, plot drives characters instead of characters driving plot. It's the sign of bad writing when you needed a plot to move along but couldn't justify it properly, you just cut out the build. The only build here was Euron said he'd bring back a prize for circe. It lacks development so we get no pay-off it's just oh so that happened.

Not saying it's easy to write a show like this with too many cooks to follow but yeah it's a throw away. One that probably shouldn't have been because it's pretty major plot development.

Personally, whoever directed the episode is almost evil, considering there was the match cut with surgery into food, dick move.

Would anyone else have really preferred it if Dany and Tyrion were launching their conquest from Storm's End instead of Dragonstone? I know it's cool to show Stannis' table again, but the symoblism would have been much stronger.

It would make too much sense, they sailed north just to sail south again, plus it's not like they could go anywhere on that island they'd have to move all their troops to the mainland anyways.

I thought that battle scene was so poorly shot. I couldn't tell what was happening. Between the dark setting, the super shaky cams and the many cuts; it was all just a mess.

Overall, a passable episode. Everything is just going so fast; there's no time to really process anything. I did not like that Grey Worm/Missandei scene either. Too long, dialogue was too corny.

Strongest moment was by far Varys' speech. Fantastic stuff; well written, well acted. Real solid. Overall Dany's war council was very enjoyable. The rest though...

E: The naval battle was pretty damn random, but in the writers' defense, ships sailing close to shore (assuming this was the case) its not uncommon for naval battle to happen suddenly due to line of sight being cut off by the cliff/beach heads. I watched some Invicta documentary (YouTube) that reminded me of this.

For me it was a very good episode, I keep really liking the show. Especially
- Arya and Nymeria
- Daenerys' council of war
- the naval battle! very nicely shot and for once I found the dornish sisters also enjoyable
- Jon / Sansa / Littlefinger's games - there's some tension building up which makes the storyline interesting for me

Overall, from these first two episodes, I am very satisfied with how things are wrapping up. One could have expected a swift end of the conflict with Daenerys coming to Westeros, allying with Jon and defeating Cersei, just to then face the zombie menace

but it seems there are still issues and intrigues to develop (and it doesn't seem that the Jon / Daenerys alliance is going to be so smooth, between Sansa opposing Jon's decision and Danerys asking Jon to "bend the knee").

I would have liked to see some more of the Hound storyline in this episode, and also the Brann plot (which seems super important at this point).
Btw the Stark's family is very close now, with the exception of Jon going to meet Dany - Sansa / Brann / Arya are all converging towards Winterfell - unless Arya changes her mind and goes back to killing Cersei (but imo that was not the point of the scene with Nymeria)

Euron's entry to Yara ship was so well done, what a badass.

Yara's naval command seems pretty shitty though if she only realizes shes under attack when boats are aready burning. No scout system?

Jon storyline is a bit dull

. 'Entire north: this is a bullshit idea and against any traditions.' 'Jon: I know this is bullshit but you have to trust me' 'Entire north: Aye it's a good idea'. That thing has repeated for like 5 times already. Without Littlefinger and his knights his bullshit ideas would've gotten them all killed already. And he doesn't even give Littlefinger time to talk even though they 'can't defeat Night King alone and need all allies'...well Littlefinger wants to be an ally, hear him out ffs

Rest of the episode was pretty great. Varys is so awesome

Not lucky to find them of course, his intention was clear. But I believe Euron as described in those 2 episodes would just charge to battle regardless of the weather.

Coming in the cover of the night ... could have been planned. Taking advantage of a timely storm needs a bit of luck unless we consider he has the magic to bend winds and sea to his will.
