Good chance actually. They said they plan on doing about a year in a half on the final season as they want it to be spectacular. It would be early 2019 if it does take them that long instead of mid 2019.
Endings are so hard for series. We get so few Breaking Bads or Avatar, and that isn’t the fault of the writers. When series have this much cultural relevance, it is hard to know how to close it out. I’m glad they are going to take the time, because a lack luster ending is forever.

I think Breaking Bad's ending was ok, but not that great either. If we talk about great ending i am more thinking of Six Feet Under or Sopranos personally

I felt the Sopranos was weak, but I respect it. Breaking Bad ending(the last 6 episodes) was amazing because let the audience come to terms with the fact they were cheering for a terrible person and nothing will work out for him in the end. The death of Hank is the climax of the series and then it is a slow ride dealing with loose ends. Game of Thrones needs time to end. They need a series of final scenes that cap off each thread, rather than it all ending in bombast.
Im not too worried about the ending, it might not be great or universally praised, but I'm sure it will be decent. For me personally, the show is more about the journey of the characters and what a ride its been. How it ends - it has less value to me than the journey. YYMV

Teaming up with Jon Snow. You can see him in the shot where Jon and co are on a hillock under attack by the dead... his sword ignites in the last few frames.
Looks like Jaime will have an interesting plot this season too. Honestly, I'd bet good money he doesn't survive it. Here's hoping he finds redemption by the end, though it's pretty clear he'll be fighting for the Dark Queen for a while. + Show Spoiler +
Though it sure looks like the Unsullied are gonna get into King's Landing this season from the Unsullied VS Lannister street fights and the shot of a squad of Unsullied opening the gates to let their fellows break through.
Also just generally hype for Brienne wearing Stark colours... though I'll miss her being the only character with semi-plausible armor. Arya's new outfit looks badass too.

Basically the theory behind John being azor ahai is that he wouldn't be revived if he was not to be the azor ahai. But we saw that Beric Dondarrion holds a burning sword. In the books Beric actually dies once for all, but don't know if that's happening in the show.
hmm so he must wield the lightbringer, which iirc is the valerian sword that stannis has, while dondarrion just has a sword that he lights on fire from that time he fought the hound. Isnt stannis's sword just meant to glow??? or something i cant remember alot of the details its been a long time since i watched the show.
But now its werid...because that quote says "a sword from fire, a burning sword" and called lightbringer, but stannis's sword isnt a fire sword but it is lightbringer, while don darrion is a fire sword... Also it seems that his fire sword is a result from blood magic from his own red priest. I just went to rewatch it
So maybe the red priests have been taught? to do this magic as a symbol of azor ahai, i wonder if it can be done to a valerian sword. But those swords kill white walkers anyway i dont think they need the buff, while if a normal sword imbued with that fire magic, if that allows the sword to also kill white walkers that would be really important.
AND i just realised thats why the fire preist lady has been following STANNIS...omfg im so stupid i cant believe i didnt realise thats the main reason. He has the lightbringer sword so she thinks hes azor ahai, then stannis dies to briene??? so maybe she has his sword.
