Judging from the trailer for the next episode, it looks like Tywin is pushing for Tyrion to be found guilty. What would Tywin have to gain from having Tyrion killed? He hates him, but that's not how Tywin makes decisions. Could Tywin be in on the assassination plan and need someone to frame? Tywin does profit quite a bit from Joffrey's death after all: he stays in power until Tommen comes of age, Tommen is easier to control than Joffrey, and it's some time before the Tyrells gain the title of queen.

It's been said and demonstrated many times that Tywin hates Tyrion. In season 1, he sent him in the vanguard against the (fake) army of Robb Stark. Tywin didn't dare kill Tyrion himself when he was a babe, but it seems he's not against setting circumstances in which Tyrion would likely be killed. A trial for kingslaying seems like the perfect opportunity.

Plus he needs Dorne. So giving up Tyrion for the exchange of the Mountain to Oberyn might be a sweet two birds with one stone type of deal.

He doesn't seem the dumb type. Plus he has admitted in the past that tyrion is pretty clever.

Im so sure tywin doesnt think its tyrion, tyrion provement to be brave, witty, very calculated and overall not an evil evil person. Even tho tywin might hate tyrion for killing his wife, its still his own son

Some of her power may be strictly tied to her ability to see the future, much like Jojen. We don't know if her leech sacrifice "caused" the deaths of Robb and Joffrey or if she just saw their deaths in the flames and is taking credit for what she knew was going to happen regardless. It's hard to believe there would be no red wedding or poisoning of Joffrey if only the leeches hadn't been sacrificed, in comparison to Renly's death where she clearly had a direct hand in causing.

Tywin can't lose Tyrion, right? Whether he likes to admit it or not, Tyrion is the heir to Casterly Rock if Jaime maintains his position in the Kingsguard. If he kills Tyrion and Cersei marries Loras, then it is as likely that Highgarden would get Casterly Rock as the reverse.
