because fleeing the south with the remainder of his armies actually makes sense if he wants to stay alive / give the impression he can be the king by solving the realm's real problem.
He probably doesnt know his forces dont stand a chance vs the undead but he knows he doesnt stand a chance vs Tywin & friends, so why not?

I don't think Stannis could match wits with Tywin. In fact, I don't think anyone but Tyrion could. And Tywin has so much experience that he would beat anyone under the table with his history.

They air it what, 9 pm ET in the states? Then 20:30 in NL. I guess it is the first reasonable timeslot after ET sunday evening. If they show it in Europe first there would only be 6 hours in between screening times. Kinda stupid question by me lol.

I think you can also make out pretty well that he is not entirely comfortable with the choices he would have to make to have another shot at the throne in the near future. Stannis really wants to do what is right. He knows in his heart I think that Davos is right about taking power by ways of blood magic and fratricide, yet at this point, what can he do? His armies are all but destroyed, his enemies have just eliminated their second front, and all he has left is a rock in the narrow sea and a woman he cannot fully trust in right mind.
Having a new, just and honorable cause to go after, even assured on by his two most trusted advisors, must be like christmas for the guy.

I don't understand, you're saying that it was suspicious? I don't think Davos, or anyone, would joke about something like this, not only because it's quite a big statement but also a big risk, since you can easily verify the news by contacting any other house or even the rumours that will soon spread.
I also believe that there must be some sort of seal that proves the paper comes from Castleblack.

Blackwater's bay was a bit like a hellbat drop they woudl'nt have seen coming. Stannis is just a pawn now, the fact that he doesn't react in any way to the fact that the red lady suddenly decides to fight the white walkers while she didn't saw them coming at all ever shows it quite well. Arya kicks ass more and more, hope she doesn't die too soon xD

Also kinda like the opposite of their outfit too. She dressed in a pretty ( probably expensive ) dress and he standing there in rags not shaved at all. Nice contrast.
In general concerning episode 10:
I really liked this episode because it had some additional great scenes:
- Tywin / Tyrin / Joffrey right at the beginning was brilliantly executed I think especially Tywin showing some kind of emotion towards his son - Arya using her coin - hopefully some forshadowing what's to come - already excited - The last scene with Daenarys was wonderful, really great emotions
I just have to say the acting is phenomenal and the more I see of the show, the more respect I have for everyone involved.
So, I am eagerly awaiting season 4, while I have book #1 to read which I ordered a couple of days back :D

Man I just can't believe Stannis has so much devotion to his code of behaviour that he immediately ordered Davos' death, despite owing Davos the lives of his men and himself.
