He has a I believe it was 3 limit while in sage mode. He got into sage mode (which he announced to Neji), fired off 3, then the next panel showing his eyes he wasn't in sage mode anymore. | ||

Shiki + Ino parents were painted as bad asses, die in an anti-climactic way. Neji, one of the biggest badasses of the series, gets the spotlight for two pages after 2 years of being invisible and dies in a rather anti climactic way. wtf are you doing Kishi? Yes, we want people to die, but at least make it a good death. Asuma was a good death. Sandaime was a good death. Kakashi was a good death (then you plot no jutsu'd him back to life). Itachi was a good death (twice). Jiraiya was a good death. These last three deaths? Pathetic. Weak. Meaningless. Pointless. Just plain awful. | ||

To have a meaningful death a character needs to be actually relevant, which is kinda hard now. Which characters appeared semi-regularly in the last few months? Naruto, Bee, the kages, the villains, the Karui-Samui-Darui-team, Kakashi, Gai, Shikaku and Shikamaru, Sasuke and his cronies, Itachi and a couple of dead people. At this point Anko and Yamato are presumably off paneled, dead without ever saying so. Just enjoy the noblest death competition we´re about to get. I hope Neji doesn't stay the only contestant. It's not like Naruto doesn't have enough cast members. | ||

Naruto really doesn't seem like the kind of show/manga where characters are killed off in masses with a bittersweet ending. If only Neji and those parents go down, they'll probably stay dead. If we see entire teams of ninjas killed, then it's a safe bet they'll all be revived at some point. | ||

If you really think about it though Neji's death seems rather fitting. Sure it was sudden but still it was set up all right. So I wouldn't say it was meaningless or pointless and the parents too. | ||
