This is common knowledge on the many narutoforum sites that edo tensei is one of the biggest retcons, solely for this reason.

It seems more like a firmly held belief because Orochimaru himself didn't declare it. It seems that there are plenty of avenue's that kishi can go down and I really hope he finds a way to wrap it all up somehow including this.

I'm prob forgetting it or it was one of the filler episodes from the anime that I skipped. Obito chapter starts at 239 I believe. Or watch clips of kakashi gaiden on youtube. Last coffin was probably madara. Look how the coffins lined up strong people in the back while strongest in front. Oro probably knew what shouldnt be done with the edo, which is probably why he never allowed his summons to think for themselves unlike kabuto.
Oro coming back alive = biggest plot hole so far.

Nah he just doesn't know what's going on anymore, nor does he care. Like Minato somehow already being Hokage when Obito is alive, despite him not becoming the Hokage until after Obito's death, or the fact that Anko and Hayate shouldn't even have been born when Kakashi became a Chunin at the age of 6, yet we see them to be seeming alive and the same age as Kakashi somehow lolz. Also, Kakashi doesn't even look 6 there, so wtf is going on.

Hehe pleading that he's somewhat unaware and uncaring is a bit too easy for me im afraid. As to the rest exactly what you are viewing, the context you are viewing them and what you are meant to percieve could be deliberately manipulated. I.e. The mistakes you observe are actually deliberately there for some kind of purpouse other than kishi becoming slightly insane. It could be either one at this point though I guess.

I think the anime is what causes the confusion. Didn't the coffin just fail in the manga but in the anime the 3rd stopped it?

There's a lot of debate going on whether or not Obito is really the man behind the curtain. As you may have noticed, the man in the mask was pretty mature when he attacked the 4th Hokage and made the deal with Itachi. It could be there is another masked man or Obito is just a zombie being controlled by something more sinister. My theory is that Obito was picked up by another masked man as his apprenticed and nursed back to health + trained. This is kind of supported by the mask switch that happened (from the wavy lines one to the spiral one). As to the identity of the first masked man he could really be any uchiha... like Madara's brother, Madara himself, or someone else that was extraordinarily powerful.

I don' t really ever watch the Anime so I wouldn't know. This only refers to the manga. What hapened was that Oro attempted to summon Minato, he had coffin and all, flash forward to Kabuto saying, that the edo has to be prepped 1st, so if you have the coffin, you have their sould which means they can be summoned. Yet, Oro had the coffin for Minato but was surprised he could not summon him. This is textbook definition of a retcon, Kishi just changed his ideas from Part 1 and ignored many of them.

The belief that it was Minato is still only a belief.

Actually, Kakashi was 2 years younger than Obito since he was 9 when he became a Chunin, and Obito was 11. Kakashi was 13 when Obito died, making Obito 15 during the time of his "death". Flash forward the following year when Obito attacked Konoha, that would make him roughly 16-17 years old, which is very plausible to me. This however is if Kishi sticks to the facts of their ages.
