We don't know who was in the third coffin, but it wasn't the 4th hokage as his soul was already sealed in the death god. We know this is the case because kabuto couldn't Edo Tensei the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th hokages since they were already inside the death god's stomach. The 4th was sealed previously, then the 3rd sealed 1 and 2 with him. It has to be some other ninja that was being raised. | ||

It has to be some other ninja that was being raised. ya im sure Orochimaru decided to raise the first hokage the second hokage and....... irukas dad -.- the whole theme on his ressurection was him bringing back the other hokages to kill the 3rd why would he bring back someone completed unrelated? is it so hard to admit theres a small plot hole? im sure if you looked hard you could find others | ||

I think the 4th was also supposed to be as strong or stronger than the 2nd and possibly 3rd. Minato seems to be regarded as the strongest ninja simply because of his speed. | ||

a simpler explanation is that Kishi fucked up in his early portrayals of characters power levels so the power curve seems wacked when these newer "older" chars make their appearances. | ||
