Well there are 5 main hidden villages and that doesn't include the smaller nations.
Take schools for instance. Say there are 200 schools in a single state. Every one of those schools have validictorian - they could be really smart and hardworking, but there are now 200 people like that. That's a lot of people who are very hard working and gifted, but that might nor even be 1/1000th of the total students.
The story of naruto has a lot of the best ninja in the world working together, but even if there are 100 of them, there were 80,000 ninja at the start of the war. But you're not going to show off all 80,000 of them, only the best.

Cool chapter. A lot of people are saying that there wasn't much new info in it, which is true. What's notable, though, is that the information was new to Sasuke. Let's look at his motivations thus far:
- Itachi murders the Uchiha clan and taunts Sasuke, so Sasuke decides to kill him for revenge.
- Sasuke defeats Itachi, but Tobi and Danzo tell him that Itachi did it for Konoha. Sasuke believes that Konoha forced his hand, and decides to target the Leaf.
- Itachi reveals that his hand was not forced, that others shared his goals (Shishui), that his parents understood his actions, and that Tobi wanted the Uchihas dead.
So how will Sasuke react this new information?
Will he give up on trying to destroy the Leaf? His entire quest for vengeance against the Leaf has been rendered totally illogical. Itachi has been pretty persuasive. Then again, Sasuke isn't one to listen to reason, and he's obviously very emotional. Even Itachi says that he can't change Sasuke's mind -- only Naruto can. And things have been leading up to a Sasuke v Naruto battle for quite some time. So I'll be very surprised if he simply gives up on that plan, now.
BUT -- I think he'll come around eventually. Definitely after he fights Naruto. And I bet there will be a flashback to this chapter and the emotional moment with his bro.
Other questions:
What will Sasuke think of Tobi? Itachi blatantly pointed out that Tobi was one of the people who wanted the Uchiha clan dead. That makes him no better than Danzo. Sasuke already fought (and killed?) Zetsu, so it's not like cares much about Tobi anyway. This is just adding fuel to the fire of a possible Sasuke v Tobi battle.
What's up with the war now?? I believe the Zetsu army is pretty much dead, freeing up the bulk of the allied forces. The summons just got defeated, freeing up the 5 Kages and the rest of the allied forces. And Kabuto just got defeated, freeing up Sasuke, who's now on a team of his own. That makes it Tobi vs Sasuke vs Everyone Else Period. In other words, the war is basically won. There are only a few possible trump cards:
- Jugo and Suigetsu claimed to have found some sort of trump card in Orochimaru's lab that could change the entire outcome of the war. So far we have no idea what it is, nor do we know whose side those two would fight on. Each of them has their own individual motivations. Do they still care about Sasuke? And would Sasuke care about them? They certainly don't have any reasons to fight for Tobi or for the allied forces.
- Tobi might have some sort of trump card. I mean he didn't even have half of his army until Kabuto helped him out unexpectedly, yet he was still confident enough to declare war. This suggests that his plan doesn't necessarily require him to win the war. Then again, Naruto just leveled the fuck up, which he didn't expect. It doesn't seem likely that Tobi can beat him. But there's still the mystery of who Tobi is, and how Madara was resurrectable, so who really knows wtf is going to happen here.
- Sasuke is unpredictable and super powerful. He could shift the tide of battle in any direction.

Excellent post, Courthead. While the logical thing for Sasuke to do is calm down... I don't think the plot will take us in a peaceful direction. I still think Sasuke will die by the end of Naruto.

I always thought naruto would die to save sasuke and then sasuke would save the village.

We might see Sasuke fight, retreat once more and level up with the type of Susanoo that Madara had (maybe to powerful to give Sasuke?) Though we will defo see Naruto with full Nine Tails powers eventually, so that Susanoo for Sasuke seems plausible.

So now Naruto is going to beat Sasuke not because he's stronger but because Sasuke has been touched by itachi's story and is hesitant lol At least that's how it seems

And you see the "generic" anbu members massacred on a regular basis. Then the other ninjas in the village, who presumably weren't good enough to join anbu, defeat the villians who massacred the anbu members. It's like playing rock-paper-scissors.

I personally think Naruto will follow the path of his parents before realising his dream of becoming Hokage (or maybe shortly thereafter). I predict he'll die by the hands of Sasuke who will carry the will of fire on.

I think Sharingan was amazing when Itachi was introduced, and what Mangekyu Sharingan can do. Up to Itachi was good because it showed what a master of the user is capable of. Amaterasu is still one of my favorite techniques.
I think it started going overboard with the introduction of Susanoo, Izanagi / Izanami. Then the whole eye trading thing was weird. And now super bloodline rinnegan + sharingan just killed everything.
What's the point of training, becoming a Jonin, learning all these jutsus when you can just have sharingan?
