Wow, Izanami aka imba-no-jutsu looks like a total flop.
Though probably warping reality isn't its real power. Itachi is probably going to rewrite Kabuto's fate or some crazy thing like that.

Nvm, thought the cave bending thing was Izanami for some reason.

Basically Amaterasu Tsukuyomi and Susanoo are the children of Izanagi and Izanami (who are also brother and sister). And ofc the things the jutsus do in Naruto are related to the myth ex. Amaterasu is the sun godess. And they were spawned by Izanagi's eyes so it makes even more sense. So basically without going into too much detail Izanami is the godess of creation and death which doesn't say much BUT it said that before her death she transfered her soul into an animal and a human. And seeing as how Kabuto is basically both animal and human my gues is Itachi iis transfering his soul into Kabuto. Imho that's why he was so smug. He was probably transfering his soul into Kabuto while they were talking and that's why he told Sasuke that Izanami is already done or started (don't remember the exact quote).
Kinda funny really. I bet Japanese people who knew this myth weren't suprised at all about anything. Basically all of the Uchiha abilities are based on this. The moment you first see Tsukuyomi and know this myth you can basically expect the rest.
Edit: Just thought of this - if he actually transfers his soul into Kabuto maybe he will be able to undo Edo Tensei. Remember how Kabuto said that only he can undo this jutsu and it has no weakness and then Itachi said I'm it's weakness? Makes perfect sense if he was planning a soul transfer. And then after he undoes edo tensei he'll die because he'll say that basically edo tensei ressurects the soul not the body and even tho he is in Kabutos body it's still his soul. And this way it will fit with the myth because there it says that Izanami died after she did this soul transfer.
Reading this was actually more satisfying than reading the chapter. Jesus, I hate naruto now yet I can't stop reading it. Now I know what it feels like to be in an abusive relationship.
haha - you are right though, the post you originally quoted was a fantastic read. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I feel like you are likely right. Ultimately Sasuke would have to kill Kabuto and his brother once again. Still not sure where that leaves Sasuke as a character though...

I feel like Izanami shouldn't just be a faster shin-ten-shin the soul transfer technique from Ino's clan.

Itachi doesnt actually know how to cancel the Jutsu yet though so he cant take control of Kabuto and jsut eprform the seals unless he can peruse through KAbutos memory or Kabuto spills the beans

It was actually decent, although the deja-vu level is quite high. Kinda reminds me of Gaara's flashback story, with a slight twist.

waste my time no jutsu, boring chapter.

Not really sure what you mean there. It was a pretty good chapter, showing an interesting bit of past.

Usually I like backstories and this wasn't bad, but evil Danzo vs the Orphanage was soooo cheesy.

great stuff, creepy orochimaru being creepy as usual. However still feeling no sympathy for Kabuto, why would he purposely leave to be a shinobi and then feel sorry for himself? It would have been better if he was forced to join through Danzo's manipulation or something. Ah well, I hate to like villains anyway
