and there was no build up to Sasuke obtaining the Mangekyo or the amaterasu or the EMS or the susano'o there was no build upo for Danzo to learn the Izanagi or for Madara to get ressurected
there was no build up when the water lord guy pulled out his uber clone, there was no build up when the immortal guy pulled out his uber hearts
the bad guys rarely get a build up if they spend time building up the power of every single villain the manga would be 2000 chapters long and tehre wouldnt be any surprises

Is it wrong that at the end of the chapter, I was hoping that Sasuke would shoot a net at Kabuto? As a consequence, Kabuto would fall and would no longer be able to fly, giving Sasuke the perfect oppurtunity to kill him while he was immobilized. Unfortunately, Sasuke wouldn't be able to bring himself to do it, and would thus let Kabuto go free; however, at that point something strange would happen - Kabuto would not fly away. After figuring out this was due to a damaged tail, Sasuke would use his impressive ingenuity to craft a mechanical tail and effectively learn to ride Kabuto across the skies, being the first Uchiha in history to ride a Kabuto Dragon.
We could call it, "How to Ninjitsu Your Dragon-chan".

Personally I wasn't too suprised that Kabuto has sage mode but what I find a little irritating is the confidence Kabuto is displaying.I mean cmon does anyone seriously expect this battle to end with him beating both Itachi and Sasuke. So far the manga has been hyping Sasuke so much and everyone seems to want this guy and Itachi has aways been presented like this complete boss who is pulling the strings from the dark.And now Kabuto faces these two guy and he's like w/e I'll just 2vs1 them.
edit:Not to mention Itachi is Edo Tensei.He doesn't even need to block attacks with Susano.He can get hit by everything and still regenerate.
Dude, Kabuto's MO this entire time has been the capture of Sasuke. Pretty much since the beginning of the manga Orochimaru, and by proxy Kabuto, have made this their primary mission. Why would you be irritated that Kabuto is confident about capturing him?
If he wasn't confident in his plan, wouldn't he just be a completely incompetent loser? He's spent his entire life studying and preparing to fight the Uchihas, specifically Sasuke, and you think he should be all worried and unsure of himself? wtf?
