Acting Up - G-Eazy ft Devon Baldwin I love this song with a passion. Does anyone know any good songs? I like Hoodie Allen, G-Eazy, and The Regime. DJCarnage is awesome too but he isn't a rapper. Oh and Acting up is probably my second favorite song. G-Eazy just always hits the spot. Check it out!

Kendrick Lamar and its a disappointment, that song was begging for an actual Kendrick verse and it never happens, J.Cole had some laaame rhymes. ![]() After it leaked instead of getting pissed or whatever he's letting you stream it from his site. http://bornsinner.com/albumstream/

t's like popular rap skips the whole "let's discover what's wrong with our communities" and goes straight to "hey we made it!" Gangsta rap is completely opposite of what has been said here and you will see it here, imagine that...

ATCQ is in my top 3 fav groups =) and jurassic 5 is great as well (top 10). I am prob even more of a fan of Cut Chemist, their DJ/producer. Some of ATCQ classics(had a chance to see them live few years ago btw): + Show Spoiler + And my 2 favorites: Similar good artists (jazzy feel) are The Roots, Pharcyde, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples

You're right that the producer is pretty damn good. Every song I listen to them the beats are what stand out as the best to me. Chali 2na's voice is also pretty awesome. Apparently we have pretty similar tastes so I definitely have to ask for your other top 10 groups. So far this thread has been very nice for getting good hip hop into my library. How were ATCQ live? Kinda surprised they're still going. It seems hip hop groups are pretty good at sticking together.

+ Show Spoiler + My depth of hip-hop artists is admittedly not great, but I love some of the older stuff. For instance- The Younger Generations (Grandmaster Flash) I really liked the 70's feel- funk? disco? influence to this old track.

ATCQ is definitley in my top 3 hip-hop groups but I would have to think about the top 10 as even within hip-hop there are different subgenres and artists that I can give more props for lyrics (taking into account eras, innovativeness, and longevity), or production value and how good of a mix of the two they have, etc. I guess I am a nerd and would have to weight out how many good songs/albums overall, and how good are those songs in the all-time list. I tend to value songs/albums that will still be good years down the road from when first heard. I have/will be putting most of my top 10 on this thread though (have around 1400 songs on my broken ipod I need to get out soon).

Many people might be saying Black Eyed Peas, wtf? But before the whole Fergie thing and before they went all pop, will.i.am was actually one of LA's great up-and-comers. This is a great one, a classic, if you will.

Gangster Rap is/was primarily massively immoral, misogynistic and homophobic, and while you may not like modern rap, it in general is far more positive, less homophobic, less violent, still probably as misogynistic though. Gangster rap has basically died in the mainstream as well.
