so i guess the king saw how shitty humanity was becoming and decided "fuck that" and decided to segregate his people, he supressed technology to prevent them from going down the same cycle of neverending arms race, the reason he was fine sitting within the wall instead of spreading out and killing titans is because he knew they were his people being forced into that form
theres 9 titans but so far weve only seen 4? armoured, beast, giant, speedy, coordinate? possibly ymirs and elder reiss guy arent actually one of the 9 titans though
does historias BFF actually have same name as the first titan? We've seen eight out of the nine. 1. Armor 2. Female 3. Colossal 4. Monkey 5. Horse 6. Ymir 7. Eren/Grisha 8. Reiss titan (now merged into Eren)
So there's eight shifters left. We don't know who the last one is. There are two possibilities: Since the Mare had 7/9 and the Wall people have 2/9 and since Grisha had to eat one shifter to regain sanity, if he ate a Mare titan then there's still someone in the walls with shifter powers who we don't know about and vice versa.

i dont think every single shifter is one of the 9 and i really dont think the horse titan is one of the 9 so i dont think 5,6 and 7 count as one of the 9 titans in fact i kinda douby Annie was one of them too, i think each of the 9 titans is more special then being able to harden a part of her body

So what are they just part time shifters? Casual warriors who just do it on the side?

the "millions" of titans in the walls are not the 9 titans yet they used hardening to create the wall, Eren and Annie can both use it so hardening isnt one of the 9 powers so following this train of thought Annie is a regular shifter with a regular titan, her job was to infiltrate deep so they prob didnt want to risk one of the 7(?) powers they had falling into the enemies hands
horse titan is probably just a deformed regular titan

i dont think we have seen them all, most probably armored, giant, coordinate for sure and maybe, beast (i am not even sure if beast is one). What is this horse titan that you are talking about?
While it is cool to get the information that we finally wanted for so long....goddamn it...i just cant help to describe the manga as 'is like an improved version of Claymore' from now on....but the good stuffs of AoT is still there, such emotional trips for eren's father now i see lolol

but where is the wall which we know about? on the island?
|
yup, so all the stories happened so far is on an island, the war is still going on technically between the high tech kingdom (the continent government who brainwashed and sent reiner and co.) vs the giant kingdom (king hides on the island)
|
It's actually an upside down image of Africa, if you look closely. The island is Madagascar. The mainland is what looks to be everything above (below) the congo. Except the climate seems to a bit too temperate even for South African standards so it might be that the continents are flipped 180 degrees in relation to the north/south pole.
In regards to the titan powers discussion: I'm pretty sure the "power" of the warriors isn't that they have armor/size/long arms, it's that they have sanity. Unlike the mindless titans, the warriors can transform and reason whilst within a titan and are thus effective soldiers instead of a wandering zombies. The other cool powers are just added benefits that can be acquired separately, IMO. In regards to the colossal titans inside the walls - there's nothing saying that they're shifters. They could be just as mindless as the titans wandering the island. Which means that whoever has the coordinate can directly control all of them... making the coordinate IMBA as fuck.
|
You're right, that's totally an upside down Africa
Anyway, if I get this right, 80 years prior to the series the non-titan people took over after some kind of inter-titan civil war (which the titan king did nothing to stop)?

what are the direct implication of what we learned in the last chapter (top tier chapter btw) ? there were so much info that i'm a bit lost, so if someone dares to explain it clearly it would be well welcomed

Damn, so the Beast Titan is Eren's half-brother..
This chapter was so epic, I am still shocked.

I wonder how they had possession of the seven titans before they recruited the warriors. Did the just give the power to someone against their will and kept cutting their limbs off so they couldn't turn into a titan?

If I understood correctly, the blond guy (Zeke, beast titan) is there to take the coordinate, but we don't really know why he turned in his parents. He may (1) have been instructed to by his parents to prove his loyalty, (2) have been brainwashed/seduced or (3) may have not understood the consequence of his actions.
If it's (1), yeah, he's there to steal the power to wage war on the mainland and bring back titan rule. If it's (2), he's just there to take the coordinate so that the non-titans can invade the island safely and take the oil. If it's (3), both are options.

Hmm...yes...I see the parallels. Is this a social commentary on our history and current reality...
Huge reveals and it paid off nicely. I don't see the end of the manga coming anytime soon, Isayama can continually stretch the story (and $$$) if he so chooses, which I don't mind.

New chapter came out. Kinda confirms what we all already assumed. I like how Owl's Titan is beefy as fuck and Grisha's had a manly beard but Eren is just a lanky dude with a cleft mouth.
|
I wonder what happened to the fellow forumist who insists that the appearance of the titans was a friendly political act?
|
Oh god what a twisted chapter. So that's how Mikasa looks in the morning.
|
Is it just me or does the titan eren's mother turned into look like the one who ate his other mother at the start of the series?
