I really enjoy the show. I love it how the main character is smart and outplays the others. I don't like Harvey though.

I mean, Mike is freaking annoying in this episode, and that kinda put me off, but at the same time i remember feeling that way about Vince in Entourage a few times, and overall it just made the show better.
However, the writing is what put me off the most, Mike keeps on repeating itself, does exactly what we expect him to do every single time (and by that I mean the most annoying thing possible), and comes off as a prick. Harvey on the other side is straight up awesome in this episode (but then again he always is!). I also feel like they try to do too many things at the same time. Like one of you guys mentioned earlier, this mix of romance, memory from his childhood and new danger regarding his secret felt overwhelming. They could have expanded those over 2 episodes at least. I mean come on, it took such a short time for Jessica to solve it, it was so boring! (and I'm sure we'll hear from that girl again, but still, it didn't feel right...)
Overall a mediocre episode, but that could set up for a great second part of the season if played right. Wow, this is 100% my opinion on this episode! Even some of the sentences are almost identical to what i wrote in another forum after i watched it. Great minds think alike

Looking back a few days later I actually really like this episode for the two things I think it did. We have spent basically every episode of Suits since episode 10 of season 1 watching Mike become more and more like Harvey. It was good of this episode to show us that he still has quite a ways to go.
It also continued Mikes downward spiral which started the previous episode. We made light of it last episode because Harvey was also getting high but in that episode Mike bought drugs, used them, pretended to get rid of them, used them again, proposed commiting a felony, and then slept with a married woman. If they had just started up the next set of episodes without giving the downward spiral any closure it would have been really weird. He needed to hit rock bottom so that we could move on from this storyline and thats basically what happened so now the fun can begin again next episode.

Imo, I still like this show, but Season 1 had this magical something that Season 2 just doesn't have. I liked the show way more back when it was all about learning about how the law firm worked, and going on interesting assignments. (kinda had a lawyer version of House feeling to it).

Yup, hopefully this helps clear things up too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Suits_episodes

I agree with this. Season 1 was more about their great lawyering and how Harvey/Mike does the seemingly impossible. Season 2 has been a little too political at Pearson Hardman. Harvey/Mike are doing too little brilliant persuasion and a little too much browbeating and dirty dealing.
I have grown to love Louis because he's the same conniving weasel he's always been. He also gets results, but he never sacrifices his principles because he already doesn't have any.

Well, Louis's principal principle is opportunism
And I agree that Season 1 is a bit better than Season 2. and I think it's because a lot of the things seem rushed all of a sudden. Romances come and go like clockwork. Hardman came back for like... two episodes. He's in power; they voted him in! And then gone in two seconds. Really? They couldn't have made it more interesting? He couldn't have stayed around longer? Harvey and Jessica had to win that fast? Some previews seem to show that he'll eventually return (and I hope he does, just to make the show more interesting), but his first comeback should have been pretty big. He was swatted down like nothing.
And why is Harvey so soft with Mike? How many warnings would Mike realistically get? How many times is he going to royally fuck up, when Harvey yells at him and puts his ass on the line for Mike, and essentially just lets Mike put everyone's job (and ultimately the firm) in jeopardy? It seems out of place. Even the analogy of "Well Harvey was given chances from Jessica when he started out, so he's doing the same thing for Mike" is getting stretched really thin by now, because Mike just doesn't seem to learn and doesn't care to learn.

Was anyone else really disappointed with last weeks episode?
They keep reusing the same goddamn plot over and over
1) Mike and Rachel have romantic conflict
2) Someone almost finds out Mike never went to law school
3) Mike has some moral conflict that prevents him from doing his job
I really hope tonight's episode is a break from this repetitive crap

I can't be the only one that doesn't think Rachel is hot as hell. In fact, her character for me is getting more and more annoying.

She's kind of hot, but her annoying character pretty much ruins that.

I hate Louis and I love that, one of the best written characters I've ever seen.

Why do so many people like Harvey?
|
Can't wait for tonight! The preview looked interesting. Looks like Louis is going to do something because he is pissed at the whole "I didn't my associate but Harvey just hired one" thing. Seriously if some of the little things would have went the other way Louis wouldn't be in the "conniving opportunist" role. He really is over compensating because it really does seem like he gets the short end of the stick every time and someone else is "favored".

He's a manly, successful man. A role model for many of us.
