It amazes me how ungrateful he can be towards Harvey, who fights to keep Mike's cover time and time again, and has a lot more to lose. If I were him I'd sure as hell either do my job or get out of there. yeah, I'm starting to not like Mike's character. But I'm starting to like Louis more as the season moves along.

Lots of things happened in this episode but no one cared about any of them because they came out of nowhere and we never had a reason to care in the first place.

You don't need to dump Mikes origin story, his confrontation with a demon from the past, his whole adulterous relationship and his return to drugs all in the same episode right after killing his grandma. It cheapens the emotional impact any of these storylines could have had if they had slowed the fuck down. You're supposed to tease emotion out of your characters not force fuck them in the face. Not a great episode... oh well I'm still gonna watch Episode was not bad, i think peoples expectation has run high because of the hiatus. They've been setting up mikes grandmas death since season 1. She was his only family. If that didn't put him in some kind of negative emotional spiral then what would? So it's completely logical what they're doing. I would think it was kind of weird if he went through the biggest trauma of his life and everything was just back to normal. I guess the thing is i didn't even remember his grandma had died before i watched the episode, so for me it felt a little bit out of place, maybe that's the problem? Kinda bad though that there always has to be some threat that's gonna expose Mike. Why don't they just drop that for half a season at least, im getting tired of it.

Until Mike becomes a Junior Partner or something, he'll never be above the more common scrutiny. His boss knows and his boss' boss knows. What hurts the situation is that everybody else, for the most part, doesn't and have the ability to scrutinize him.

Him being poor at decisions on life is completely congruent with his personalty that we have been told, people don't change that much.

So they have one associate who isn't from Harvard, why is it so important? Are they legally bound to hire all their associates from Harvard or something? Some kind of agreement? It was probably previously mentioned, but I honestly don't quite remember.

I don't think they specifically mentioned it, but they do have some arrangement with Harvard for recruitment. Maybe it would turn off Harvard if they started to hire from other schools so they wouldn't get preferential treatment? Other then that its basically a prestige thing.

Uhm it´s because Mike doesn´t have a law degree and they/he states that he does. That´s fraud. He has passed the bar(for other people) but he has no degree from any college/university. So it'´s not just the Harvard thing even if that works into it. People take those kinds of lies seriously, a few years ago there was a real world example of a guy working at a place for like twenty years being an invaluable employee making the company tons of money, but he lied about his degree - he didn´t have one and was fired and also prosecuted for fraud i think.

Mike - started out quite awesome, but now is an all round dick Harvey - pretty good guy, but a massive dick when it comes to Louis Louis - massive scheming dick who does a lot of cunning things, but sometimes has a nice moment and just wants to be accepted (enter Harvey being a dick) Jessica - doesn't get much screen time, but comes off as a general dick, though that may be as a result of her position Rachael - generally nice and such, but has been forced into being in a permanent bad mood as a result of Mike's being a dick Donna - similar to, but better than Rachael in terms of being good/likeability. Seems to sometimes say things that reach beyond what should be permissible for her and so she ever so slightly comes off as falsely thinking she's top shit. Still the most likeable character, though. This show was awesome, and I hope they can pull it back. They just need to stop making Mike so fricken dark, he always seemed to be the outsider, the reprieve from the high stress environment these lawyers soared through, but now that he's a dick, the other characters have become more unbearable because they're basically all these dicks who are out for themselves 24/7. There's no longer an element that mixes up their strict ways of doing things.

However, the writing is what put me off the most, Mike keeps on repeating itself, does exactly what we expect him to do every single time (and by that I mean the most annoying thing possible), and comes off as a prick. Harvey on the other side is straight up awesome in this episode (but then again he always is!). I also feel like they try to do too many things at the same time. Like one of you guys mentioned earlier, this mix of romance, memory from his childhood and new danger regarding his secret felt overwhelming. They could have expanded those over 2 episodes at least. I mean come on, it took such a short time for Jessica to solve it, it was so boring! (and I'm sure we'll hear from that girl again, but still, it didn't feel right...) Overall a mediocre episode, but that could set up for a great second part of the season if played right.
