Season 1 was a decent read. It did seem to drag a bit because they were on 2F forever, but the significance of the floor and the author's note(some floors being more significant than others and therefore need more time to portray the story) made it enjoyable in the end.
As for Season 2, it's been awhile since I've been so bored of a story progression that I felt like dropping the manga or skipping to chapter 90-100 to see if it got any better. At first, for some reason after reading the author's note about the story having more than one protagonist and the shift of focus on the protagonists, I thought I was reading a flashback of Leroro when I first saw Wangnam because he looked like Leroro. I started skipping a majority of the author's notes and rankings because I was so bored with the story that I wanted to see if it got any better. During a later chapter, Viole was revealed to be Baam. For some reason I thought "o shit" Baam must have lost his memory and then left the tower only to reenter it later. So all this while I was waiting for Wangnam to turn into Leroro and become somewhat of a badass. It wasn't until I saw Koon and Rachel that I realized that I was reading the manga in chronological order the whole time instead of a flashback and that the Season 2 characters were just as shitty as I thought them out to be. I even thought that Koon was the young version of his father or whoever was leading the Koon family at the time because he called himself Agero Agnis something and didn't realize it was Koon until the manga showed Rachel.
If I could send a message to myself after reading a few chapters into Season 2, I would've said to just skip to the chapter where Koon shows up and just read a summary because I almost felt like dropping the manga while reading through that boring game. The characters didn't interest me as much as my least favorite, significant character in Season 1(I'd probably pick the spear bearer guy that beat gator in that test and he wasn't even a significant part of the story seeing as he only had 5 pages of drawing total). Even if I realized that it was a direct continuation of the plot with new characters, I still would've thought it was one of the most boring 30-40 chapters of a manga I've ever read.
Really? I think the new team is way better. The first team was like here have these super awesome fighters mixed in with the smartest guy in the world and baam. The new team feels unpolished and weak. I dont know but I like the underdogs more...

I doubt the son of Zahard is going to be Baam. The author put a lot of foreshadowing into: 1)Wangnan having the ring with Zahard's symbol. 2)His shinsoo bombs being the only thing to hurt Baam in that earlier test (possibly a manifestation of Zahard's power). 3)Him knowing that only an irregular could kill Zahard (pretty classified info judging by Hwa Ryun's reaction)
Unless all of these are just for a plot twist, I'm pretty solidly in Team Wangnan for being the prince.

Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought Baam didn't react at all to the shinsoo bombs and it was some sort of "normal" grenade that affected him, which would make sense given Baam doesn't really seem to be affected by shinsoo much at all (like at the beginning of 2F when the ranker pushed everyone back with shinsoo then made a wall to pass as a test, but Baam wasn't pushed back.)

You're quite right. Wangnam used what he called "cheap bombs" after using up all his shinsoo ones. There was this one ranker who apparently had "high shinsoo resistance", could be that it's the same thing with Baam.

134, and only because Zahard et al or anyone else hasn't passed the 135th floor.
If you make it to 134 you're a Ranker

We don't know how many floors the tower has, as far as I know.
I imagine there are quite a few after 134. I'm also willing to bet one of the irregulars at least went past 134 already and we just don't know about it yet.
Also, I'm sure someone as pointed this out before but it's pretty ironic that irregulars are called that when in reality they are the only ones that truly should be in the tower (I think). Headon pretty much confirms Baam was chosen by the tower before, and no one else really is strong enough to get up the tower on their own other than irregulars (especially assuming the original form of the tower before Zahard).

There is no evidence to suggest any floors beyond 135, so I doubt the story will really progress beyond Floor 135.

SIU has stated that there are floors beyond 134 and that Zahard has not yet explored them. Whether the story will progress beyond there or not is another question. If Baam will truly stand at the top of the tower, it probably will but I suspect that will be very close to the end of the story. That is, exploring higher levels will not have much explanation but the fact that Baam reaches the top will be the important part.

I thought reaching Floor 134 or 135 would result in the person getting whatever wish they wanted? Would that not just finish the story?

I thought reaching Floor 134 or 135 would result in the person getting whatever wish they wanted? Would that not just finish the story? I'm not entirely certain so don't take this as canon but from what I understand, floor 134 is only considered the "top" because it is the furthest anyone has climbed. No one has actually reached the top where any wish is granted. However, as one progresses through the tower, one consequently gains fame, fortune, and power, so there is a bit of a misunderstanding that arises. I forget who, I think Yuri, but someone stated that everyone who has reached the top (floor 134) forgot what they wished for when they entered. Instead, they become complacent, in one form or another, with the tower as a lifestyle because by the time they reach floor 134 (which takes well over 100 years for the average person), they no longer have a wish but they have certainly gained many of the things promised at the *true* top.
One could argue that by the time you reach the top, the only part of your wish that remains is the desire to reach the top.

Technically Zahard went to 135 and he's irregular, he just couldn't conquer it.

When you get to the top, you get to see the SKY! Must be dam good, if you want to kill your best friend to see it.

Interesting new chapter, + Show Spoiler +we get some development into Baam and Wangnam's relationship, and introduced to some mysterious new character.
|
+ Show Spoiler +Poor Baam, he really got the short end of the stick. That's pretty low for FUG to use all of his friends as hostages just so he'll do what they want him to.
