Most likely it is the administrators which are behind or supporting Baam. That first level administrator probably sent them somewhere where they can indirectly help baam.

Story is actually pretty decent right now.

Also, nice to see Hatz again. Probably my favorite of the old characters. No money, no title, no family, no special blood. Just a dude with a sword and a bad attitude.

I may have spoken too soon. The story is picking up but it's going at the classic TOG snail pace. I understand that it takes a long time to draw battles but god if it isn't boring to wait a week for 30 seconds of "pew pew".

I think the OPM manga has the right idea. It's also a battle manga with a lot of panels devoted to just action; however, it kind of goes on hiatus for months at a time and then comes out with like a 100 page chapter that actually feels the length of an episode. I think that's the best way to do it. Seeing as how TOG updates every week, I think I'll just forget about it for a while.

yeah I like to either forget about it for 2-3 weeks at a time, or I just use it as a small ~10 minute source of entertainment on monday morning

I just really hope the fights will develop into something other than just flashing colour lights accompanied by extraordinarily convoluted technique names (Floral Butterfly Piercing Technique). There were some fights I'd consider really cool, like Baam vs the invisible inventory/shinsoo hound girl, but a lot of fights were just meh.
Honestly I feel like Rachel has been carrying this entire story so I hope we get to see more of her, but it seems like she might just disappear for about 50 chapters again.

I agree that the fight were better early in the story. But SIU said he hates drawing fights, so that's maybe why. Even tho the story is developping a lot, I used to prefer the early chapters, where there were games, strategies, mindgame and stuff. Now it seems more about cliffhangers, powerlevel and fate. I'd like to go back to the time where the rak/khun/baam team was actually climbing the tower..

This chapter finally showed what I've been waiting for a long time, Baam holding his own against rankers.

Ever since the hell train arc the regular class rankings have seemed kind of redundant as Baam & company have battled foes on another level. The author skipping on developing the characters through these ranks is welcome to me as the protagonist's crew are getting drawn deeper into the Tower's internal strife, which is way more interesting than climbing the Tower for its own sake.

tbh id still be interested in seeing floor progression throughout the tower; the way normal regulars have to progress to become rankers. unfortunately i think itd make the manhwa go on wayyyy too long

I agree that I want them to climb the floors, what I meant was that it was more interesting to see them go off the "normal track" of progressing steadily from D rank to C etc.

What I'd like to see going forward is to see a bunch of Baam's companions get killed. There's like two dozen characters attached to him that don't seem to serve a specific purpose after their arcs, like Boro and Sachi.

I welcomed Prince getting eaten by White because I thought it would invite more garish deaths going forward. Mangas in general don't really kill off characters so seeing that happen was a good change of pace.

Why kill them? It'd also make perfect sense for some characters to just screw off because it's too dangerous for them, or they'd rather settle once they reach C rank and the benefits that come with it, etc.
All these characters don't have to follow Baam to the death.

I totally agree - there are two many LiterallyWhos running around and they all look the same. With something like One Piece at least there are crazy body type differences and funky costumes to differentiate the hundreds of characters but with TOG everyone is just a regular humanoid and dresses in plain clothes. In regards to whether they should be killed off... they most likely won't. There have been very few notable deaths in the manga and a giant culling would never happen. It would be sooooooo cathartic though.

well it looks like a notable character is dying this time. kinda sucks as i actually liked this guy a lot. he was such a big part of baams story which makes me think maybe hell miraculously survive anyway but well see
