Which Lavos did you fight? The one in 12000 BC is nearly impossible and you can challenge the other Lavos almost right away. TBH the final boss isn't too hard if you have all of the OP equipment you can obtain in the game and your levels aren't shit.

It was the one in 1999 AD i think. It was the "normal" time to do the fight. I was playing on an emulator and literally skipped everything possible. Super minimalist playing. Probably why i cuoldn't do it.

You can go to 1999 very early in the game, so if you went there ASAP, Lavos will be nearly impossible since you skipped most of the story. I'd try giving it a full playthrough; it's got a great story and some really cool bosses. Lavos himself is interesting. He has 3 phases, with the first constantly switching between boss attack patterns (another advantage of playing through the story is you'll know how to fight each different attack pattern).
