No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is. Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers.

You aren't all just hipsters doing something ironic for the sole purpose of being hip? I'm having a really hard time taking this cult following seriously. I guess everyone has a feminine side. Please help me to understand! No, it's not a prank, or any form of hipsterism. (I rarely ever like things before they're mainstream.) If you doubt the sincerity, check out Equestria Daily. It's a centralized fanblog, filtering fan-produced material as well as news for brony consumption. It currently has more than twenty-six million hits. Anyway, the best place to start watching, if you're interested, is probably the seventh episode, Dragonshy. Hasbro has been very nice about leaving episodes on YouTube, in high definition, since most of their income is from toy sales rather than selling advertisement.

I just didn't find it exceptionally entertaining. Which really surprises/disappoints me because I was expecting it to be fucking outstanding because of how it could overcome the prejudgments of a bunch of insecure nerds... oh well, maybe I'll give it some more time later and see if it gets better. I think what's supposed to happen now is everyone laughs at you for actually watching the show. The whole thing was a prank and they got you. Now you're a ladyboy, I guess.

If the rest of the episodes were like the pilot, it wouldn't nearly have the following it does. There are much, much better episodes, and I'm kind of upset at OP for telling everyone to watch the first 4, instead of the stronger episodes (13, 9, 7, 25). Some episodes are very good introductions, while others are more stereotypical and not the best representation of the show.

In all fairness I didn't watch them in order, so I didn't realize that 1-4 were not the best starts ^_^ edit: in the future if you want me to make a correction like that to the OP, just shoot me a PM.

I just dislike watching shows out of order in general, but I suppose it shouldn't matter too much with a cartoon, haha.

But then I decided I would lightly skim through the rest of the episodes and found myself enjoying the the episodes from like...7 and on sooo much better and enjoyable... Basically...If you're wondering how people get so into this show...watch like...the first episode (so you know the characters) while skipping the opening song if it's too cheesy...then watch episode 7, then 9...and then come back and judge...

You get a really good overview of the characters by how they go about trying to get the ticket from Twilight. ^^ Just watched that one. It was actually extremely entertaining. I loved the random hideous buzzard in the middle of all of the bubbly animation of the show during Fluttershy's fantasy haha

I still love the comments on youtube. Yesterday: "Today my dad walked in on me, so I quickly closed the tab and switched to porn. No one must ever know!"

I wish I could have experienced Pinkie's psychotic breakdown AFTER knowing the character. It would have had a much more profound effect. Instead I was like lolwut why is she sad and then after watching a few more episodes I kinda understood it. If I had gone in knowing and, possibly liking, Pinkie, it would have been rather sad. Also, I thought Pinkie was the main character of the series because I watched PoO first. I was like "Who's this Twilight chick?" for the next few episodes. <facehoof> The pilot gives a far better introduction to Twilight as best pony. TL;DR: Party of One = good episode, bad starter. Best way to start a new brony is Dragonshy to suck 'em in with adventure and cute Fluttershy (yay) then pilot -> rest in order. EDIT: On August 12 2011 11:33 obesechicken13 wrote: "Today my dad walked in on me, so I quickly closed the tab and switched to porn. No one must ever know!" I did that, but my second monitor has a pony wallpaper. He saw it first, then the pr0n. My reaction

These are easily the best 3 episodes of the series. Cutie Mark Chronicles' "Twilight Nova" gave the DnD roleplayer in me a nerdgasm. I mean, that's the shit you expect of Raistlin or whatever, not My Little Pony. Yet another reason that Twilight is best pony; losing control of her magic and blowing shit up at an academy entrance exam. Here's your "Badass Magic User Club" membership card.
