I've never felt this drawn to a show when it comes to being so into the story and being so excited for the next episode. I hope I can find many more shows that draw me in like this! I am going to check out some of the shows I've seen some of you post about too.
1. Started K Dramas Lastweek, 2. Starts with Love Rain 3. Finds it good

I started with You're Beautiful and I almost quit watching dramas forever, but City Hunter saved me.

its like the next best drama for me after phantom. both so gudd I actually started watching that this week and am caught up. Its my first korean drama and its very good.

Just read Gaksital's synopsis and it looks exactly like a drama I would like; I don't know why I haven't heard of it earlier. My goal: to finish Midas and rush that drama so I arrive in time for the final episode
its like the next best drama for me after phantom.
Is phantom a drama about cyber investigations with Lee Yeon Hee? I can only find it labeled as "Ghost" on my streaming site.

If you watch GSL, you may recognise it's the same as the Korean name for the Ghost unit, 유령. However I usually hear 귀신 used for ghost in dramas.

Hello!
My first KDrama was MGIAG, and I love it (Best thing I've ever seen). I keep thinking about it, and I can't seem to get started on another KDrama because MGIAG was so amazingly good. I feel like just rewatching everyday.... W
What should I do?

Depends what exactly it was you enjoyed most about gumiho. The girl or boy, the romance, the fantasy storyline or the comedy? Gumiho is widely regarded as one of the best, though depending on how you answer we could potentially suggest completely different lists.

Can anyone recommend some good recent movies?
|
Sunny was the last Korean movie that a lot of noise was made about. Haven't actually seen it myself. Also, how recent, are we talking this year or 5?
|
Talking about movies, has anyone seen Ha Ji Wons ping pong movie? I think its called " Korea" ^^ is it worth a watch

Actually no, well somewhat, but it's more of I like how her characters are done. I just really like how the story is portrayed and how the emotions are really shown through the characters. Might not seem like a lot, but when you've only watched a few show series in your life that don't ever stick out when it comes to bland characters and not really being excited for the next episode; coming across a show you can enjoy so much is great! Maybe a lot of people don't like Love Rain because they have seen many other 'better' kdramas, but I think because it's my first one, I feel more in awe about it.

Yes I know, but you must start somewhere! I might be late getting into them, but I'm glad I did now than never

I just finished Midas, and god was it good (I wouldn't have written the final this way, but it was still decent).
Now I'd need your help, k-drama pros, to choose the next drama I'm gonna watch. I already have a list of 5 dramas that I've seen people like a lot and I don't know where to start:
1. A Gentleman's Dignity 2. A Tree With Deep Roots 3. Ghost (Phantom) 4. Rooftop Prince 5. The Bridal Mask (Gaksital)
I would go with A Gentleman's Dignity because it's more recent, but I'm still in the Midas mood so maybe I'd go with Phantom.
|
Rooftop prince is the only one I can absolutely recommend with no reservation. AGD is pretty good, but if you haven't started it you may as well wait a bit for the final verdict. It could easily explode in a fiery ball of utter shit as is the custom with so many K drama.
|
Even if the ending would be utter shit like fashion king or a slight disappointment like BIG d still recommend watching AGD only for the openings lol and the first like 12 episodes are really hilarious only when it started to become more serious, the episodes felt dragged abit but it's still one of the better dramas this year so far.
|
I am on episode 13 of AGD. It's pretty good so far, all the characters are very unique and different from each other. It's pretty hilarious too.
It's getting a bit more "dramatic" finally and shits about to go down I think, so I'll continue watching. It's my first Kdrama I've watched so it's a pretty good introduction for me.

It was perfect... The couple had amazing chemistry, and the romance was so sweet. The fantasy story was good, and every actor fitted into his/her role. The comedy was pretty good, it wasn't like other movies where everyone just cries all the time.
|
I think Rooftop Prince, Big and Operation Proposal would be a good start. Coffee Prince and Secret Garden after that maybe. Can't guarantee you will like them all as much as Gumiho, maybe none of them, but those are my suggestions.
|
I started watching A Gentleman's Dignity a couple days ago. Holy shit this show is hilarious, especially the beginning of episode 5.
