Wonder how long they will drag this Mother plot out before they focus on her career again. Anyone else think she will become a Musical Actress/Singer rather than a pure actress? Got the feeling that might happen after they went to see that musical production. Would make sense to do that since IU can actually sing as well.

I think this interpretation is flawed because the past 1993 Sun Woo would disappear on the day the alter-present 2013 Sun Woo used his last incense ("wedding day" and or the alter reality his brothers "funeral") to alter the reality. The past and present is the same person so when the present dies there can't be a future, hence he will not live to 2032.

What actually happened I think is a bit more complicated. The present 2013 Sun Woo who were trapped in 1993 actually saved himself by refusing to die and because of that he met past 1993 Min Young who later will tell past 1993 Sun Woo about her "trauma". They never showed it but I think when past 1993 Sun Woo realize this, present 2013 Sun Woos reality were altered and he avoids death. Precisely like when the incense sticks disappeared when past 1993 Jin Cheol took them.

So the past 1993 Sun Woo (his brother "confessed" and Min Youngs "trauma") will disappear on the "wedding/funeral" day and become an alter-memory for the present 2013 Sun Woo who are trapped in same timeline. For the present 2013 Sun Woo, in his past his brother still didn't confess and took an overdose and died. But he is now living in the past 1993 timeline.

Twenty years later Sun Woos "confessed" brother Jung Woo, "junior/lover" Min Young, best friend Seung Jun and enemy Jin Cheol will know that the past has been altered and will come to the conclusion that his disappearance is because something went wrong when time travelling. Jung Woo when realizing his alter-past will feel crazy guilt again and this is one of the awesome parts. In this reality there are still 9 incense sticks left. The brother goes looking for them again and in the last scene you can see Sun Woo who are now 58 in 2013 saving his brother because he know from experience that this is the action his brother will take.

Wow holy crap Lee Bo Young's acting after she gets told about the last phone call with her mom. She actually looked like she was physically in pain during that crying scene. Haven't been moved by a scene like that in a while, maybe I have become too easily impressed now from all the poor acting in other drama's lately.
