I probably would have placed him on a VM if he cared about wordstar 4.0 so much. Someone probably regularly converts whatever file Wordstar 4.0 saves in to an acceptable filetype so he could send it to publishers. The thought of GRRM packaging floppy discs and sending them to the publisher makes me chuckle though. :D

On the up-side, nobody's gonna hack him and steal the book drafts anytime soon.

I was HUGELY disappointed with the reveal of Ser Barristan - obviously they couldn't let him go on with some other name for an extended period of time when people could actually see his face, but that was still quite disappointing. I'm assuming they'll just combine the characters as they've done with several others... or perhaps have one of the unsullied participate in the duel.

Ok, you just killed a Stark. I hope you are happy.

It's a pity, but eh. How does the saying go? The needs of the show outweigh the needs of the book readers. Or something like that.

Some characters need to get cut, it's a tv show. I remember watching season 1 before I read any of the books and by the end of it I wasn't sure who was part of which house and doing which plot again. I had to rewatch and read the books to get really on top things. There's many many characters in the books. Most of them do not merit a tv showing, even though it's important that they are in the books, for the scope and style of the whole series. I mean seriously, what does Belwas really do that would be so damn important? Not much.

So when the hell is that time-skip coming? Many characters right now are downright useless because they're so young. This includes Arya, Bran, the Dragons (ESPECIALLY THE DRAGONS). I really hope the white walkers invade and kill everyone in the northern half of Westeros and the book skips forward 10 years with Dany flying over the sea on the backs of her winged children.
|
Pretty sure he dropped the time skip because it didn't work out Also, the dragons are already pretty huge, I mean daenerys rode one out of mereen, i don't think they need to time skip for them to be viable in battle

I just hope they don't cut Grey Worm or Daario Naharis. I feel that both of them are super important to Dany's development.

I want her to become a badass ninja, not some child who has to rely on stupid tricks to take people out. Either way, I hope the white walkers invade in this book because it seems like that scene with inception where the van falls off the bridge for an hour. They should have invaded book 3 imo.

Daario is in, there are already shots of him. Doesnt look like the original though. Understandable imo, because the appearance of the original always reminded me of a clown.

Arya will kill Stannis when he is on the Iron Throne, to make way for Jon who is then warging in fake-Aemons body.

Well she already managed to kill armored soldiers with a glorified dagger at the age of 9 or 10. :D So becoming a badass ninja at the age of 12? would not be any less realistic.
Yeah this was always one of the things I dislked about he books. GRRM himself said that he probably made the kids a tad too young.

I feel like Arya's story is going to get really really dark at the end. I sometimes feel like I am reading a greek tragedy with her chapters. Almost like the whole series will lead towards this storybook ending where Jon and Dany marry and defeat the Others, but then Arya shows up and assassinates Dany whom she doesn't realize is Jon's wife, and then there is a crazy showdown where Jon kills Arya but in the final moment realizes who she is.. fade to black, all very tragic.

I doubt that Arya will ever become a proper assassin worker. She hid some of her belongings including needle for later and this implies that she will one day reclaim them. She will probably become very good at all the skills and then run away to kill all the people she wants to kill. Cersei etc.

But seriously, if you think Jon is going to stay dead, you're delusional.

If Jon is actually killed (and not zombified like Catelyn), I'd be so happy. I mean, I like his story, but I feel he's the only character that's useful for the story with the wildlings and the Night's Watch, keeping it all connected. Killing him off would be very interesting because it would be chaotic and fun.
Maybe Stannis will take that important role. Unless he's dead too. I love these books.
