Spoilers about new season so dun read if ur not herp derp on this season.
The new writer stated in some interview before the season that she wanted to focus on the relationship between Dean and Sam, hence its a season full of "How are you doing Dean/Sam" "I'm ok" "You're not ok! You're sad admit it!" in an infinite loop. This writer should be fired immediately, it's just so bad and she's killed two fan favorite characters in one season, infact now it's just Sam and Dean, everyone else that they know is freaking dead.
Killing characters off is good if it accomplishes something, Castiels death did nothing. They pretty much went "Oh well, that sucks" and then did nothing. Im guessing Bobby's death will have some bigger impact but plot wise i dont see how it does anything.

season 7 is pure, unadultered shit. Death's Door being the only episode that was good. Castiel dying is ridiculous, now there's no one left, what's up? introducing more new characters? Supernatural got about 80% better when Angels were introduced and they just killed the last one off. The leviathans are not scary, or intimidating or even creepy. Boring ass villains and Dick Roman has barely any charisma. Not like Lucifer, or YED or Crowley.
Also...Borax? are you serious? cleaning solution burns pre angels, pre demons, pre humans monsters locked in purgatory? wtf?
We need a good new evil villain, I don't know what, but better then those big mouths ... and bring Cas back

I don't know what show your watching but I'm loving season 7. Now, before you say something like "Then you've never seen the other seasons," I've seen all the seasons. I love 99% of the episodes in all the seasons combined with about 1 maybe 2 episodes I didn't really like that much.

to be fair, all episodes NOT tied to the main levianthan storyline (apart from Bobby's two episodes) are kinda shitty. The MotW episodes are quite awesome

i guess they will bring E.T next time ehhehe.. they are running out of ideas >.< i love the show though.

The new episodes seem less and less dark compared to the previous seasons

Lillith and Eve (even though Eve was wasted) well, shouldn't Adam be next? after all, both Eve and Lillith were Adam's wives

I actually didn't like the angel story at all. Demons were pretty cool with their black eyes and the way they possessed people, but the angel season sucked.
I actually like season 7 very much, although the first 2 seasons were the best.

I personnally find this season quite fun to watch...it is nothing compared to the demon/angel seasons but it is still one of the best show around
|
Suprised no one bumped this. Whats everyone think of the new season? Huge improvement over the last one IMO, liking the new angels too.

Don't think i've gotten past second episode, i just scroll to where i left off and realise i really don't care. This show has gone on waaay too long i think or the "new" writers are just... bad.

It feels more along the lines of season4/5ish to me. I didn't really like the previous season, the leviathans were pretty underwhelming as the villans. So try to bear with the first few episodes if you can, it does pick up quite well imo.

OMG I didn't even know the new season started until now, gonna watch it all tonight.

Ah tell me about it. The guy who made the thread stopped watching the show. I'll get back to it soon.
+ Show Spoiler +The last episode I watched was I think 2 after where Bobby Singer died. Idk if I should change the front page.

Cool, might actually give this a go then.

I just got to the first episode of season eight, have to say I was let down by the transition. The build up to the finale was very poorly done. Getting a three bloods by the end of a single episode demonstrated a lack of foresight on the staff, instead we are treated to a bunch of random Bobby stuff that was peripheral from the get go.

they switched the showrunner, from sera gamble to jeremy carver(he wrote a couple of good episodes, changing channels, in the beginning, etc). That explains the kind of weird transition, the first few episodes of this season were a bit lackluster for me, but the latest episode really picked up the plot imo and got my interest back in the show.

I had gotten some wind of that from the posts after the bump for S8. A shaky start, if it doesn't pick up after this season I may have to call it quits. Frankly I miss the days when demons where a big deal to the pair.

good show but i feel like it has been totally outclassed by the walking dead
it just doesn't have the same feeling any more
|
It should've ended with Swan Song T_T That said, the new season is definetly climbing up from the abyss of stupid shit the last few seasons buried. Don't think it'll ever be as good again though, I kinda just want it to end while it still has it's dignity
