I very much dislike the way this show sticks with one (or two in the most recent episode) group for a whole episode. Episode 12 wouldn't have been as painful if that stuff was spread over three or four episodes but with it all in one you couldn't escape it. This way of having one group per episode means we haven't seen Rick for about four episodes (a month!) or Tyresse for ages. I'd much rather a few scenes of each group per episode instead of an episode dedicated to each one. Or that dogs bark and zombies come after the noise? Sounds good. | ||

Tyreese went full retard at the prison. Carol become a murderer with little buildup showing she'd be capable of that. Rick consistently throws monster fits and goes clinically insane. Carl's little delusions of grandeur are getting annoying and they're constantly being reiterated and showed again. Beth, well fuck you Beth you're like 30. I could go on, but only Daryl and Dale have been somewhat reasonable (although Daryl did slip 2 eps ago). And that's not to say that it's all bad, but all these things pile on and are obnoxious to me. I expect panic, emotions, little episodes of crazy - but at this point it's just too much for me. Too much stupid, too much crazy. | ||

TWD is about the HUMAN element that happens when you lose the social norms/structures and Ricks group is supposed to be the 'good guys' so obviously showing them struggle with their own thoughts is what drives the story. I'm curious what you would rather see then, 1 episode of them just getting back togehter and then... 7 episodes of killing zombies as a super strong group? Tyreese lose the girl he just fell for, in a HORRIFYING way, of course he's gonna lose it. How bout I show up at your house where you feel safe, and I just set your mom and cat on fire and leave it out for you to find. Carol's story is actually one of the deepest ones because her motherly drive is creating a weird dynamic. she's sort of untrustworthy but we don't know yet, if she was the one true murderer, it's looking more like Lizzie the psychopath might've been the ones to do the killings and Carol just stepped in to protect her from her consequences by dragging out the bodies to burn em and then take credit for it. Carol had no reason to admit that she was the one who did it to Rick, so why did she just admit to it and so calmly and coldly. I don't think she truly became some cold hearted bitch, but if it's about protecting the girls, or protecting yourself, she made a decision lots of people would make. Rick consistently throws monster fits? He went clinically insane once, because his wife died, yes that was over dramatized but you have to understand he's trying his best to keep his family together and unlike the others, he had his WHOLE family survive the apocalypse, so this was his first true loss and it was his wife who he didn't get a chance to reconcile with. He's caught between trying to raise his son as morally correct as possible by ideals a police man in the ordinary world lives by, in a world where laws don't exist. Carl is being a teenage kid. I'm glad you're so mature you can see how stupid he's acting, but that's what kids fucking do at that age, but for all intents and purposes when he's not doing dumb as shit things, he's been developing into a bad ass, he'll grow into it. He'll be Rick 2.0 and that's his story, and that's what you're watching him develop through. Beth is supposed to be like, 18 or something she's never had a drink, and Carl had the hots for her and her previous boyfriends from the prison were just some teenage kids too. Yeah she's been pretty useless through most seasons but finally she's getting some screen time as a legitimate role to keep Darryl from descending down his own lonely path, as well as learning how to be a bad ass herself finally, and you shit on her? Okay.... and now you have Darryl being put in a situation where he has to experience loss from someone who while he loved his brother, had lots of reasons to hate him too, he has no reasons to hate Beth. Go put on Resident Evil 99, and see hot chicks blow up zombies. I think you'll be happier along with a lot of people who take time out of their week every week to post in here how much they hate this critically acclaimed show. | ||

Dogs mostly bark when in their own territory so when in a camp this would be useful when settled (it's not as if the humans are quiet when they're in camps in this), think of their setup in season one for example. Usually when out of their territory dogs will not bark and can be trained anyway, especially if they know they are not supposed to make noise (e.g. when hunting). They can alert you by their posture (tail position, ear position) and growling. Besides it's not as if guns and babies don't make noise. | ||

And speaking of groups crossing paths... Were the two guys that rick killed at the bar with Hershel and Glen part of one of The Governors search parties? I dont mind how unrealistic TWD is. The only thing that bothers me is when characters keep making really bad choices. (Shane wanting to sleep with Lori even with Rick back, Andria being a dumbass for all of S3. But I care far more about characters like Rick, Daryl, Beth, Glen and Maggie than I do in comparable shows. | ||

Why is that the first thing people come up with whenever something is being criticized? If I had just said "I hate this" I'd understand but I didn't say anything that deserved "stop watching" with that sassy little question mark at the end... I really hate that growing trend of telling people to "stop doing something" and to "leave" the second that they have criticism about something. More importantly, I don't get why people are so defensive about tv shows. It's a TV show. You might like it more than somebody else, it's okay. I'd like the characters to be more diverse. Dale and Hershel were special because they were different. When Dale died, we were left with a bunch of instable douchewads and Daryl who's essentially the only one who's has kept it together. Now this is a forum and many people really need nuances to be explained thoroughly and I TRIED desperately to do that in my first post where I specifically said that I understand that TWD is a character drama and not a zombie apocalypse thing. That said, I'd like more diversity in the characters. They're all different people but all of them are going to go crazy a few more times and they'll act irrationally in the same kind of way. Like I said, you can put literally every single character in the show as "Chaotic evil" which is not a chart that I like to use but my point is I don't see the depth anymore. It was interesting at first. The first season was amazing, parts of the second season were amazing, the prison had some cool plot points, but the characters are drained out to me, because it's a cycle and nothing new is being added here. It's a formula. Group builds up, moves, consolidates, falls apart, splits, character drama, people deal with loss not very gracefully, group builds up - and so on. It came off as a surprise when it happened because we weren't given any real clues that she was a bit of a wild card. And by the way, I'm not opposed to this one thing in particular, I'm annoyed that it's all the show really gives us anymore. Whenever someone does something crazy or dumb, I eyeroll to myself saying "of course you would". It's still enjoyable even though I can't make myself "believe" in any of this stuff, but to me, the recent events feel like filler, cheap character development and a way to cut the costs of the show by using less actors per episode. The problem is that it's all basically like that. I like the show, I'm just frustrated that it now all seems too familiar. Having read a good part of the comics, I can say that it hasn't been as frustrating to me. | ||

I think I may have made a similar post sometime in the second half of season 2 when I really was not happy with the direction the show had taken, only to have it recover during season 3. I don't really care about the "bandwagon", I say what I think. And I don't stop watching a show, or stop playing a game, the second I start having complaints and criticisms about it.
