Yeah, I guess it makes sense if you look at it that way, the reason I dislike it is that it reinforces the "girls are weak compared to their male counterparts" stereotype thats pervasive in most anime/manga. It'd be pretty cool if we could see her rapid firing protection spells and buffs and stuff in these last few like she (sorta) did with natsu and gajeel against edolas king Herp-Derp, Erza says hello to you I see what you mean though... And were the only who thought the last chapter fucking TERRIBLE except from + Show Spoiler + Panther Lilly and his sword, lol

But I'm also starting to dislike the arcs more and more. Heroes get too many powerups too often is my main gripe.

And then Nasu kicked the bad guy's ass and everyone was happy..... Wait no....instead the power-up was useless and we have to wait even longer for the arc to be over. The fuck was the point of his power-up then? Random idea that looked cool? I was really hoping it would end this arc, I fucken hate "God-Mode Activated" characters.

I can't help but think that Zeref is gonna get defeated the same way as Hades.

And in this case it wasn't just a power up. The villains were all way stronger than them. It finally made for an interesting arc where they would lose... Oh wait, they kind of scream for a little bit then beat them out of nowhere in 1-2 panels. Same thing for Hades to be honest; it was ridiculous. Manga authors should respect the world that they created. If a character is just way stronger than the hero, make it a real struggle to have the hero win. Or have the hero lose a fight. This arc, it felt like the mangaka went "Woops, made the enemies a bit too strong... oh well, no one will notice if they all lose for no logical reason right?"

I think the issue here is that Lucy is very weak compared to other characters. However, she is kind of like the narrator of the story, and so far there has been very few suggestions that she can ever play a very strong role. Also, I noticed that Charlie's premonition didn't happen. Did the mangaka forget?

Fairy Tail shouldn't be the single strongest entity in the manga's universe. It's boring that way. Beat the heroes up. Make them lose their resolve. Save them from death by introducing new characters, or make the other guilds help them and establish an alliance. Make other countries invade or be in trouble. Make a training arc, go outisde Fiore (it's that the country it's set in currently, right?) there's a whole world out there, use it. Don't keep doing the generic baddies arrive beat the good guys. Good guys get a power up and defeat the bad guys. Rinse and Repeat every arc.

Although the way they won was incredible stupid a reason was still there. Happy and the other cats blew up the "heart" which was the source of his power. It wasn't really out of no where, it was just really stupid.

Good guys get a power up and defeat the bad guys. Rinse and Repeat every arc. well actually it's implied that there is some sort of 'destiny' between the dragons uniting and the guildmaster of fairy tail was recognized as one of the 10 strongest wizards so... yes, they are pretty strong. and they've already done a lot of your suggestions, on top of that, they're pretty far from generic at this point. i disliked edolas, that was a bad arc, but most of them just aren't as bad as you're complaining about. every arc gives an increased meaning and understanding of the "dark guilds," what the motive is and how powerful they actually are. it kinda stopped being generic since after nirvana imo, where the main bad guys were some emo dressed guy doing illusions and the guy with an evil split personality. that's highly generic. it isn't really like that anymore. the story telling can be a bit lame and how they actually get through struggles is poorly written but not every author is good. it's an ok manga. not terrible, not amazing. i get the feeling you have a short attention span or something, to be thinking they're not doing almost exactly what you and the quoted poster are asking. it's just written in a sub-par way.
