Saw Gareth Emery 6 hour open to close set last Saturday and it was probably one of the best sets I've ever seen. Working his way from 120bpm all the way up to 138 and delivering on everything I want to hear, including the mash up of Citadel vs Not the Same I requested  Even brought his own LED boards and crew, was an amazing experience.Gonna miss the Dirty Bird BBQ and Jerome Isma-Ae 6 hour set this weekend unfortunately  Sure both will be amazing. Looking forward to a 3 hour Rank 1 Classics mix next month though! | ||

I think the mainstream bubble is breaking a bit with at least the older djs, especially since their dj mag top 100 spots are slipping big time. I caught wind of the show too late and I've working massive hours at work the last couple of months. I had a pretty big turn over in my team so I've had to help pick up the slack myself. I am going to see Front 242 and Lane 8 tomorrow and Friday respectively though. Super8 & Tab are coming through 10/9. Tiga is coming as well. Some lesser known names but should be good set for tech/house are swinging by as well. ATB has a show but we both know that's a no go these days. The big show outside of Super8 & Tab is John Digweek 11/1. I can't wait for that show. It'll be a Sunday too, so that mean less of a crowd, but a massively good set as the attendees will be there for the music. Ah, just checked the bookings and I forgot Andrew Bayer was recently booked for 11/14. Show quality has certainly slowed here in Austin, though I think that is due to to festival, Ibiza, and European season for a lot of DJs this time of year. Plus Austin being a mid size town. Hoping for a some big booking for November and December. I might be able to pass up on Nicole Moudaber in Houston on 10/2 though. I've been listening to her set from the Awakenings Festival and it was fire. | ||

Gatecrasher I think is in Ireland or Scotland. I know there is a good club where Gareth Emery is from. Ah just remembered Brixton Academy, O2 Arena, has good shows. Looks like the DJ Mag Top 100 party is going to be there Oct. 17. THE WAREHOUSE, RAINBOW VENUES seems like a decent venue in Biringham. Also I would just search in some of the decent cities. Like Biringham, London, Manchester and Liverpool and the cities in France that I'm too lazy to look up. | ||

You can try most of Markus Schulz songs. I would say his early 00 stuff and later stuff is more of what you are looking for, though his later stuff, meaning releases this decade, haven't been that great. I would also check out his alias Dakota. Dakota is geared towards nothing but dark and bass driven trance. Also Mr. Pit isn't too bad, Khomha, Rex Mundi. You can check out some psytrance as well with the big names being John '00' Fleming and Christopher Lawrence. Check out more Arnej stuff as well, his productions are usually on point. Edit: This post just made me realize how far away I am from Trance considering everything I said is at least 3-5 years old. | ||
