Markus just got scheduled here on the same fucking night as Aly & Fila. Why do the promoters do this to me?? I think i'm gonna have to go with 5 hours of standerwick + a&f over 2 hours of markus at a shittier venue and hope that markus comes by after his set to trance out <3
At this point I'd pick Aly & Fila over Markus and that's really hard for me to say. Aly & Fila, though I don't follow them that much anymore, are guaranteed to play a 135+ bpm set. As for G&D it's part of their classics tour, and there isn't much out there that I'd miss this tour on the trance side. I'd wait though and see what pops up for July 4th, as there is always decent shows in the bigger cities especially since the fourth falls on a Saturday.
I personally prefer Markus over A&F, though having to choose between the two is a #firstworldtranceproblem
There aren't many bigger Markus Schulz fans than me, however the last 2 years Markus has gone down hill dramatically to the point to where decided not to go to a Markus show that was doable since 2008. Aly & Fila on the other hand has maintained, to my knowledge, to stay mostly trance and trance at 135-138 bpm.
He's still got it <3 I'd say he's gone downhill a little bit, in terms of his productions and tour/festival sets which are a bit more big room and generic than the past. But if you go see him for any set that's 3+ hours you'll see he hasn't lost the magic, the longer he goes on the farther he digs into his library and his ability to read and play a crowd really shine.
Honestly, I haven't been keeping up with most artists recently because school's been trying to (do inappropriate things) to me.
I actually liked Scream 2 quite a bit, Muse and Erase You are pretty good songs from the album IMO. On the other hand, I remember liking the The Other Shore... but I can't name any songs from it haha. I'll start listing to their podcasts a bit more now that I have time.

His extended sets aren't quite as bad, but if you listen to an extended one from even 2010 and one now you'll notice a pretty big difference imo. I still wouldn't necessarily miss an extended set from Markus and have plans to see him twice in June.
I feel like I've been negative the last couple of posts. So don't get me wrong I still love trance and listen to trance at least 3 or 4 times a week. I have just moved onto house and techno these days mostly. Also as a matter of fact I just downloaded the subculture night sets from New York and listened to the JOC set and the set was on point.

Haha your posts always have the tone of disdain in them :p
You would have loved Blake Jarrells opening set for Andrew Bayer. Loads of proper prog techno and house, effortlessly beautiful mixing too.
Andrew Bayer's set was fucking magical. Pretty much everything from his ASOT 700 set plus an extra hour of amazingness. I don't think I've seen that bar go off that hard since adam ellis/suckley/simon patterson. Need Your Love, Perth, Rift, etc so many great tracks.

I've seen Blake Jerrell a few times and he was on point for the most part. Actually now that I think of it he was the opening DJ, for Armin, at my very first dj set in Dallas.
I actually like a lot of his earlier stuff from his mixtapes. He's got good flow and some of his lyrics are great. Went to shit after he blew up though and this is a big concert so I'm sure it's going to be a bunch of the crap ranging from sappy emotional R&B to obnoxious and rowdy gangsta rap. And, this is just a guess, but I doubt the crowd is going to have the same vibe as an A&B show... + Show Spoiler [warning: hip hop music] +
