pretty much this, u got PA and axe to run at heroes early, how does sven get farm? shadow demon to save any blink godstrength jumps, invoker EMP. sven is basically a nonfactor
They had good greedy supports, to hold the fort to win lategame easily.
But then Axe happened, everything else they could deal with, Axe breaking the early-mid game was a disaster

MVP doesn't win a single series, and they get upper bracket. Why not make the group stages even more useless =/
They clearly deserve it, unless you think them dumpstering OG is a fluke.
They definitely are not the better team, and 80% of the time this result wouldn't happen.
Just unfortunate for OG, since winning so much in the group stages means nothing.
They picked MVP. They could have picked Newbee.
At BEST you're saying that OG should have had to face an even stronger team because MVP doesn't deserve upper bracket which would just make it more likely that OG would get dropped.

no excuse for eu dota shitting the bed yet again at ti
This has nothing to do with regions. Just odd that you don't win a SINGLE series, and now you win one, and you're automatically top 6?
Their punishment for doing mediocre in the group stage was having to face OG, and they deserve to nullify it by beating OG.
Okay, I guess that's where I'll disagree with you. They should have a more difficult run instead of OG in terms of number of games and chances to fail.
I think TI4 is a good example of where the group stage matters.

Yeah, like I said, I don't think getting to pick your opponent from two teams is a meaningful advantage for finishing first in groups.

Whats wrong with you ? series didnt mean anything it was about games won , they won enough games to get 4th , the group stage is about measuring how good you are , and the best way is to count games won , not series won becuase there isnt any "series" its 2 games and no one is elminiated , whatever , if you think group stage is useless then you are clueless.
