If anything the whole fiasco proves that a lot of players in the dota pro community are ridiculously overrated. The reality seems to be that the player skill/ability differences are marginal at best, among all the players on the top 16 teams. What counts is team chemistry, unity, strategy and execution.

Agree that Misery is good and underrated but if you look at the actual swaps: Universe for Misery rtz for w33 I'd say if anything taking Universe for Misery is the better trade than rtz for w33. Surprised EG didn't take Misery but worked out well for Misery.

Bulba, and Aui for that matter, are familiar faces and safer alternatives given the deadline approaching.

One thing thats going for a guy like Misery is its experience , he is a veteran who knows what its like to succeed and fail and he is willing to do everything needed to win , position/heroes/strats , the new stars they wont give up their own style , RTZ left EG the first time due to heroes he played which he didnt LIKE playing..... One less ego one more championship isnt came out of thin air thats for sure

Surprised EG didn't take Misery but worked out well for Misery. Misery's map movement as an tempo offlaner is godlike. Too many people are downplaying his abilities just because he is not as clutch in spell casting. He compensates for the greediness of w33 and ee

One less ego one more championship isnt came out of thin air thats for sure Yeah. If I was Secret and got given the options on those players in order I would: 1. Take Universe 2. Take Universe & rtz 3. No trades 4. Take rtz In my head (using arbitrary numbers) if adding Universe is +10 then adding rtz is -5 or something. So if you have to take both you do it - but you're really doing it to get Universe into your squad. Keeping in mind that Universe was considered #1 offlaner for a long time. He's not as game winning as a player like iceiceice but he was so consistently good.

The hero opens up some fascinating strategy options in the early & mid-game. However, I think it's more like what happens with Bounty Hunter: if you're not prepared or practiced, it just wrecks your day. Decider Match: Newbee goes for Lion first pick. Absolutely expected, haha.
