You can't push that early against decent wave clear. The Jakiro secured them a solid tower advantage but everyone who's played Dota at a high level knows WR + Magnus can clear a creep wave in one set of spells, so there's no way you push high ground unless Alchemist is so ahead that he practically doesn't take damage in ult form. A Mek allows you to heal your team. It doesn't allow you to stand in the front of a tier 3 tower tanking WR + Magnus + Ember.
Of course Secret played very well for this to happen, but that's what top teams do.

VG were very indecisive on pushes to T3s. They picked off a magnus after he tried to blink around the back, forced his buyback and still just waited outside as EE was pushing bottom. They needed to commit there and get stuff done ( think they had aegis there). They then did this again when they pushed mid again to T3 with aegis on alchemist to again let EE push and not commit. To that extent they even sacked Alchemist two times due to indecision.
That for me is what cost them this game.

tbh VG collectively fell apart slowly after their mid push that one time didn't work out, lategame was just mistake after mistake
lol @ azarkon picking apart strategies after the game. Secret blew 3 buybacks in their mid defense and barely held with amazing ember play throughout the game, but I guess VG are just too shit of a team to understand basic dota. How many times did puppey place above fy in a TI btw?

eh its not only WR that has this issue though. pretty much every popular mid hero has received buffs in such a way that they all are very very strong at something (and can snowball very easily) and only last patch has icefrog tried to cut back on the power creep.

They never truly fixed the shackleshot in DOTA 2. The amount of broken angles I saw while playing and the length of the shackle is absurdly high.

Well first banning ember against secret is not really that dumb it's not solely because envy is really good at ember but because it's a secret comfort hero.
Yeah banning comfort heroes and trying to throw enemy teams into uncomfortable picks are a thing.

Except you can't end game early with Jakiro against wave clear. In case that's what VG wanted to do, they lost at the draft. But why pick Gyro Alchemist in that case? Why not pick hard push carries? Gyrocopter can't even siege against wave clear because he is squishy as fuck and has short range so he can't hit towers without being hit back. Alchemist can't siege without a huge advantage because he has to be able to stand there and take hits from 4-5 heroes while on the tower.
