A massive break and yet they're only doing one lower bracket game today, meaning a team has to play twice tomorrow somewhat unfairly?

It's like they made this tournament to power eSports Express

It annoys me when Rubicks refuse to level Null Field over Lift when up against a heavy magic damage team. Getting points early in Null is more valuable than the extended stun duration.

theorycraft : Man, your mitigating so much damage skilling null field! It makes a big difference!
reality : telekinesis scales better than null.

It does make a difference. Giving everyone the equivalent of 2200 gold defense is worth more than that extended duration.

if you are behind like vp is right now, you just want the extra duration to kill someone. secret overkills everyone by a ton anyway, so the extra defense from nullfield wont safe anyone.

I understand the popularity of Lift is wide spread and I've threw in my cents. Secret didn't start to overkill in the early fights and had to outplay VP to get where they did. Considering the Rubick's positioning the entire game it annoys me when people fall into habits, (criticism directed at myself included), instead of thinking through the options they have available.

This is the bushest league I've ever seen.

And I've seen Dreamleague.

Well pros don't give a shit about production. At least their accommodation was godlike

I think MBS is the best hotel the players have been to.

When I stayed at the MBS it was overcast like crazy so the infinity pool was actually kinda freezing. Too bad they have to deal with the haze right now. However besides the pool and garden its about on par with most 5 star hotels. TI5 they stayed at the Westin right? and some Chinese tournies they stay at 5 stars also. Pros living the good life now, not like when they had to sleep on the freezing floor like Merlini said.

Do people hate it if tournaments make a schedule that they can actually follow? From my perspective setting specific times for games to start has several benefits: players know exactly when they are playing, if the tournament is broadcasted on tv or whatever you know exactly when the game will start, and also viewers both at home and at the arena know exactly when to be there. Obviously if you do it like that then if there are no significant delays with the first game and it only takes 2 games to complete there will be a break.

In this case especially I would assume it is necessary for the ticket buyers. It's a normal school/working day so people may come and watch after work or whatever. They may not be there when the action starts, but having a time when they know there will be a new game helps. On that note is the crowd empty or what, I didn't see the 1st series?

If games end early, I'd prefer the long break. I think for the greater good, games should follow schedule strictly.

At least I far prefer this sort of scheduling over the regular "let's hope we have zero issues we scheduled games from 9am to 10pm" and then woops the day ends at 2am and soon you have to make your final a bo3 instead of a bo5

!!!

ill prefer strict schedules as well because it makes it much easier to plan your day around dota instead of allocating the whole day for it and then only see random matches when you dont have 24h time.
often you just want to see certain games and when you can reliably do other stuff and dont have to watch the stream constantly to not miss the important matches its a huge plus. the day just gets way more efficient this way.

I'm going to quietly chant CTY for the next 30 minutes instead of doing something productive

Man hopefully they used this time to fix some of the issues they've been having. I can hope right?
